Classes would be suspended for the next two weeks because of the 'sudden' murder of the grape. Katsuki knew that he'd had it coming for a long time, though. It was only so long until karma caught up and bit him in the ass.
However, Katsuki had another thing on his mind. Everybody had been sent home because the dorms had been deemed unsafe since there was a possibility that there was an overlooked measure in the security system. In actuality, Katsuki had disabled the alarms for Stabby to get in, but that wasn't something anybody would find out. If they did, the blame would be placed on whoever the UA traitor is instead.
Katsuki had paid Stabby the moment she confirmed the job was done, but now he had another issue. Everybody but Icy-Hot had been sent home. Instead, he was detained as the possible prime suspect. The person whom he was trying to help ended up being affected the worst.
Icy-Hot did not need this stress right now and Katsuki knew that better than anybody.
Luckily, Katsuki had another rotary phone at home. You're probably wondering why he has so many- the answer is because All Might-themed rotary phones are collectibles. Both Katsuki and Shitty Deku used to be obsessed with pro-hero collectibles. This explains itself.
Dialing Stabby's number furiously, putting his finger in the dial, and swiftly rotating it around to the metal piece. He repeated this process until her number was fully entered and listened to it ringing impatiently.
"Hello~ you've reached Himiko Toga, who is this~?" The airy voice spoke.
"Stabby, we've got a problem." He responded gruffly.
"Oh, Katz~ what's the issue~?" Her voice was so clear and professional that if she wasn't a professional murderer, she'd make a great receptionist.
"Icy-Hot's in jail as the prime suspect."
"Oh no~ that's not good! What can I do to help~?"
"Record a video of you confessing to the murder and send it to the news station. It's not like they can catch and arrest you for it. If they could, they would've done so already." Katsuki urged.
"Okay~ will do~." She said, "Bye, Katz!" and then she hung up.
…
Thursday morning, Katsuki came downstairs in his pajamas and turned on the news to see if Stabby had done what he'd asked.
"Hello, good morning, and welcome back. I am Chiho Honuka and this is Juko News." A cheery young woman said with a smile, straightening the intimidating stack of papers on her desk, "We have new news regarding the murder of UA student and hero in training, Minoru Mineta. We've received a rather… graphic… tape containing details of the murder and a confession. A copy has been made for us to broadcast, while the original was given to the police as evidence. We will only show the confession."
Looks like Stabby did what she was hired to do.
The TV screen shifted to the recorded confession, "... As you see, I provided the recording of me committing the murder~ so please don't keep worrying your pretty little heads about it~! Remember, villains are made from bad circumstances. Throwing blame willy-nilly will only make more villains, and I know you don't want that~. A wise man once said, 'Everyone's a killer if you push 'em far enough~'." Stabby smiled at the camera, her canines glimmering threateningly before the tape cut.
While Katsuki didn't want to admit it, what Stabby said was very true. Villains are products of circumstance. When those circumstances become too much for the person they're brought upon, a villain is born.
Katsuki hoped this was enough to relieve Icy-Hot from detainment.
…
Shoto sat in the overnight detainment cell, doing nothing in particular besides lightly brushing his foot back and forth on the cement floor, and sitting curled up in the corner of the bench while contemplating his life's choices.
Sadly enough, he was used to this kind of treatment. Sometimes when he was younger, Endeavor would lock him in a closet with a limited amount of food and water for a week. He called it survival training, but in reality, it was an 'out of sight, out of mind' thing he'd do with his responsibilities.
As he focused on his foot gently swaying, somebody unlocked his cell door and walked in.
"Stand up, you've been dismissed of all suspicions and are free to go home." An officer said before leaving.
While Shoto was greatly confused about what happened while he was in there for him to suddenly be cleared of suspicion, he was more worried about the more immediate dilemma.
How exactly would he go home if he no longer had a home?
