Chapter-49

With the loud clamor, one of the guards who stood beside the emperor hits the iron pole hard against the ground letting the hall turned silent.

"Before I formulate my conclusion, I need to ask you all one question." As soon as the emperor spoke, everyone silently murmur among themselves.

"I am going to deliver you one final opportunity to come in the front and admit your offense." Efthalia continued with a frigid tone along with his gaze. Everyone felt a shiver and laid their head down unable to meet his gaze. The pressure was unbelievably dominant.

Even after a few minutes of silence, no one spoke. However, Lucien's mind was running wild. 'He wasn't practically talking about me, right?' She may be standing still and facing Efthalia, but her gaze was not. She was either looking at the wall behind him or anything that was not him. Her action of ignoring eye contact was noticed by the emperor and it somehow irked him.
