"How did you get those scars?" I asked as I placed my palms on his wide and muscular chest. I felt him flinched for a moment and groaned. 


"Just… I just had an accident when I was a child." He said as he avoided my gaze and looked somewhere faraway. 


"Was that the reason why you weren't able to see me again?" I unconsciously asked and was too late to realize that I fucking asked that stupid question which made me look like a clingy idiot to him. 


"No scratch that-" I stopped talking when he pulled me closer to him, making me completely feel the warmth he's releasing from his body. 


"I'm sorry if I weren't able to keep my promise. It.. It was just a bad time for me.. I just lost my parents and I was left alone to manage the Dukedom." He said and I can't help myself but to imagine and pity the young Van. However, he intentionally left out an important detail because he didn't gave me a clear answer as to how he got those scars.
