Chapter Twenty Three

“They’re playing a game!” I giggled and raced to a market stall where people were starting to crowd at. I saw a little boy with 3 stones in his hand. The stall owner was urging him to throw them into the water. The boy attempted with all his stones and failed, and began to cry when the owner ushered him away with a smirk.

“Come all who dare to cast their dragon eggs through the dragon's cave!” The owner motioned a few villagers over, but they all shook their heads at him. The owner's eyes shifted to me, and his face lit up with excitement. “You there! You must come! Where are you from, foreigner?”

“Um…” I blinked apprehensively. Should I tell them the truth about myself being from a completely different realm? “The East…?”

“The East?”

“Yeah.” I nodded. “The East.”

“Have you ever tried to play this game before?” I shook my head and he pulled me over to his stall. “Then you must try it! It is so much fun! Here is the goal of the game. You must take these dragon eggs.”
