Ofori expecting he to react the same way with Akyaa he turned away wanting to leave where quickly Ama said, “Stop!” Ofori stopped faced her where unexpected she rushed to him to give him a back long emotional hug. As she was hugging him, deep feeling the moment he was on the other side admiring to tear of her neck. Since he had bring back his thoughts, he had long feed on human blood that he could only feed on.
Ofori to prevent the temptation he suddenly splinted back and faced downwards. This act astonished Ama where she faced him with a suspicious look for some time not knowing the reason of the action. Wanting to know more she slowly walked to him as she was asking, “What’s wrong?”
Still as he was facing down, he raised his palm to stop her from moving closer to him and shouted, “Stop! Don’t move closer to me.” Ama paused facing him and asked, “Tell me what’s wrong?” feed up what he had become he dropped his palm and still as he facing downwards he said,
“A dead man coming back to life is not something ordinary.”
“I know.”
“Now you know am not an ordinary man.”
“But you have the same look and heart as an ordinary man.”
“Ama I am not the person you talked to at the river bed.”
“People do not change Ofori.”
He faced her where he made his long canine visible to her and shouted, “I have changed am now kill people and I feed on their blood.” These words and the look shocked her where it made she made a step backward.
Then his canine changed back to its normal size and said, “Am sorry for that.” Ama with no fear of whom he had become she rushed to him hugged him and said, “If you are a bad man hurt me now.” He for at her neck artery that was tempting to him where he was able to control his thirst. As the first person whom treated him normal, he said to her, “You are the first person who has made me feel alive since my resurrection.”
After a moment of hugging he pulled back and said to her,
“Let me walk you home before anybody sees me here.”
“First tell me who else knows you are alive?”
Lying to her to prevent too much questions he responded, “Nobody.” But she was too smart to know he was lying. To make him talk out she gave him rules by saying, “I will let you take me home if you tell me who else knows that you are alive.”
“I first revel myself to Osei then Mayra a Portugal lady who I saved her and then Akyaa who pushed me away.”
“So you were referring to Akyaa as the person who did not make you feel like a human?”
“She was not the only one who pushed me away also Mayra but Akyaa’s case is the one that hurts me the most.”
“She was never a good friend to you.”
“No, she was a good friend. I understand why she pushed me away is because she did not believe I was the real Ofori.”
“Ofori friendship is built on trust.” The words made sense to him where he silently face her having no other point to defend Akyaa. Ama knowing she had put some sense to him she turned away and said, “You can now walk me home.”
Still, the same night in the woods the remaining clan of elders were standing except Chief Ashanti and Owusu. They were silent waiting for their head where. Boateng impatiently he stood before the clan elders where he said, “We have been for him waiting for so long maybe is a trap.” Everybody silently faced him as if he had was a mad man in the market trying to address people. Boateng added, “We can start the cult without him furthermore he is not our main purpose for this cult.”
Akwamu one of the elders responded, “Boateng we have been doing this for long it’s not a trap.” Immediately after the words, they all heard some movement in a nearby bush. Everybody faced the bush afraid of what was in the next side Boateng broke the silence monotony by saying, “Let me check what that is.” Then after the word, Boateng slowly walked to the bush.
Everybody was silent facing Boateng as he walked to the bush. Immediately Boateng peeped in the bush rabbit ran off faster where he breathes out heavily to release the pressure that he had gathered. In the current situation, the cult was also afraid of the dark because of the night beast. Boateng pretending to be the bravest person in the group he faced back the elders and said as he was giggling, “It was a rabbit.”
The next morning Chief Ashanti was in the woods looking at the clan of elders' dead bodies silently including Boateng. The previous they were ruthlessly killed waiting, where the beast was accused of the murder. Beside him, guard were moving up and down. At a distance from Chief Ashanti where he was standing Owusu was talking with one of the guard.
After Owusu chatted with the soldier he walked to Chief Ashanti was sited looking sad. Then stood beside Chief Ashanti and called out Chief Ashanti’s name where Chief Ashanti responded by facing him silently. Then Owusu continued,
“The killings were done by the beast in the woods again.”
“Are you sure is the beast in the woods?”
Owusu moved and sat beside Chief Ashanti and faced away and responded,
“This thing we have to kill it before it causes major damage.’
“It has already caused that damage.”
“But if we won't be quick it will cause more than this.”
“And what were they doing here.”
Owusu faced the dead bodies and responded, “No I don’t know yet but as a leader of this community you should now stand strong and protect us from what is coming.” After these words, Owusu stood and walked away as he said, “I will go and prepare the podium for your speech.”
The next minute Chief Ashanti was standing on the podium facing the villagers. Beside him Owusu and other guard were standing. Chief Ashanti was making a speech to the villagers,
“Today we have a catastrophic event and to all, I am sorry for somethings happening in my reign. We have lost five elders and our commander. I have to impose laws for preventing people to walk at night due to their safety but some of you feel they are above the laws and this is now the cost. Now we have an enemy that is out of loss and for your information, the enemy is supernatural because it only feeds on human blood. And as the head of the community, I promise you I will bring the head of the beast here before you all.”
Then Chief Ashanti faced backward to one of the guard who was standing beside him and the guard responded by moving beside Chief Ashanti. Chief Ashanti placed the hand on the guard faced the villagers and said, “This man here will take over the late commander place. We need somebody strong to help us fight this enemy.”
Then Chief Ashanti turned to the man and said, “Rwara say something.” Rwara turned to the villagers and with the psyche, he shouted, “I promise the head of the beast on return.” After his short words, the villagers cheered back and he faced Chief Ashanti who was standing beside him proud of the position.
Still, as the villagers were cheering Chief Ashanti said to Rwara, “Let’s have a walk.” Then they both walked out of the podium as people were shouting and Owusu was silently facing them. As Chief Ashanti and Rwara walked off the podium Chief Ashanti said to Rwara,
“You should still respect people even now you have power.”
“I will do Chief Ashanti.”
“Now what I wanted to tell you is that there was a plan to defeat this beast all I want is you to abide with it.”
“I will abide with it so what is the plan?”
“I just want you to stay out of this if I need help I will ask you.”
“Is that like using me?”
“No, I promise once this thing is over I will give you powers in full.” Rwara responded by nodding his head to Chief Ashanti he had no say and it was first day in the seat though he was favored because of his obedience character.
It was in the evening the sun was nearly set making a beautiful view of the sunset on the hills. Ama as she was walking into the main hut her bumped into her father. Chief Ashanti immediately stopped facing Ama and asked,
“Where are you from.”
“Father I was at my friend's home.”
“And were you in the community gathering?”
“No when did it happen?”
“The beast in the woods had caused other killings.”
“Who was killed?”
“It was four of our elders and Boateng.”
“Where were the bodies found?”
“They were found in the woods.”
“And why were they killed?”
Chief Ashanti rudely answered “How am supposed to know furthermore the beast kills for no reason. All I want you to know is stop walking at night what if this beast gets you.” He was concern of his only daughter and did not anything to harm. Ama responded,
“Father everything happens for a reason.”
“What do you mean?”
“Father am tired of everybody claiming the beast of any killings that is happening in the community now.” After the words, Ama entered the hut looking angry she could not take it when Ofori was talked lame to and he had saved her life.
Late at night at Chief Ashanti’s compound, a man was dragging another man who was busy trying to resist the pull. Behind them, there was a woman who was following them as she was crying. Suddenly the woman rushed before the man who was dragging the other one and as she was crying, she said,
“Please my husband we can sort this issue at home.”
“You must be both punished in a right full way.”
“My husband you know the punishment of adultery.”
“Yes I know and that’s why I want you to be both punished.”
The woman lonely asked her husband, “My husband do you love me?” this made the man pause for a moment. Then faced the man that he was dragging and saw the man still was having pride and continued dragging the man.
As the husband was dragging the man the wife was continuing following them while saying, “My husband doesn’t forget the kids because the one you take me there you will never see me again.” The other man added, “Please forget about this brother.”
Immediately the husband reached Chief Ashanti’s doorstep he knocked the door hard. As they were waiting for the response, the wife was still crying while saying, “Please forgive us.”
Then after a moment, Chief Ashanti’s door was slowly opened where the wife threw dagga and it stubbed the Chief Ashanti’s maid who was walking out off Chief Ashanti’s hut. Quickly the man who was the husband let go of the man that he was tightly holding and ran into the house where he left his wife and the other man gazing at the dead maid on Chief Ashanti’s doorstep.
They were in the mission to kill Chief Ashanti but they were unlucky to find him missing. After a moment the husband walked out of Chief Ashanti’s hut and said to the other, “He is not here.” The wife responded, “We have messed up we have killed the wrong person.” The other man walked to the wife and said, “Just walk back home we will take care of this mess.” The woman without hesitation she walked away leaving the two men at the scene.
