The Tragedy of being Uncursed

I’ve never really thought about dying. But I never thought it would be at the hands of people who wanted to eat my heart.

“You have got to be kidding me,” Hulio said in a near growl.

“We spent years as Dragons without any sign of danger.” Hulio began furiously.

“Any danger that we can remember,” I said, interrupting what would’ve been a rather loud rant from my twin who glared at my interruption.

“My point is how did we not know or been attacked by these mercenaries before?” Hulio asked. I narrowed my eyes. I was wondering the same thing.

“The witch's spell sealed you into Dragon form. You were both cursed to guard the two gates to the garden of the Mortal Bloom’s. The curse must’ve had a failsafe.” Iris said, glancing at me before turning her attention to Hulio.

“To HELL WITH THIS. How are we supposed to believe the word of a warlock that we just spent the better half of two days fighting off?” Hulio said.
