The Past: The Curse from Netherworld

The Disciples were given a week to adjust their mind for the last stage of the tournament, wherein the Disciples were told to enter a time-accelerated Illusion Formation.

The conditions that were being tested in this round was how long a Disciple would stay in the Illusion Formation before they manage to exit. The stronger the desire was, the longer they'll stay in the formation.

The nineteen Disciples entered the Illusion Formation and choose a comfortable place to sit down. After they were ready, the Sect Masters activated the formation.

One by one, the Disciples exited the formation. The first one to exit the formation was naturally Longwei, who managed to exit the formation within five minutes. Three disciples failed to exit the Formation before the predesignated time ran out.

The following day was the final day of the Tournament where, the Sect rankings for the next decade were decided.

The Sect Rankings were decided without any incident. Penglai Sect was first with the highest number of points, followed by White Lotus Sect, Emei Sect, Ming Cult, Diancang Sect and Beggars' Sect. All others left for their sects after the tournament was finished.

Long Wei was selected as the Chief Disciple. Princess Yueliang went to look for Longwei to congratulate him.

"Longwei!"

"Greetings Princess. Why are you here? You should be with the others celebrating."

"I came looking for you because, I want to give you a gift."

"A gift?"

Then, the Princess suddenly kissed Longwei under the bright and shining Moon. Longwei was startled.

"I… I..."

"I like you, Longwei." Princess confessed with her face completely red.

Longwei felt dark energy surrounding them. A strong wind blew through them. They turned toward the direction the wind was coming from and there, they saw Jiao-Long.

"Jiao-Long! What happened to you!?"

"This happened to me is because of you! You took everything from me! Even the love of my life!"

"Stop your delusions, Jiao-Long. Since the beginning, Longwei was the one I had feelings for."

Jiao-Long tried to grab Yueliang but, He was stopped by Master Rongrong.

"Jiao-Long!"

"Look who's here! The old fogy Rongrong! Why didn't you just admit it? That from the beginning you only had eyes on Longwei to become your successor and not me!"

"That was because, I saw your deepest desire! I saw it during the trial of Mirror Water. You killed your own reflection! You even cheated on the trial!"

"You! You told him!?"

"I… I never told anybody! Please believe me Jiao-Long. Stop this madness. Snap out of it!"

"I don't believe you!"

"Please, remember our promise together!? We were going to be a Chief Disciple, both of us at the same time! Like twin brothers! We shared everything!"

Then, Jiao-Long attacked everyone and killed the current Sect Master.

"No!" Longwei shouted.

"I'm sorry Longwei, I did something unforgivable to you. I hope you'll forgive me for what I have done." Master Rongrong said before his Primordial Spirit vanished.

Before leaving, Jiao-Long cursed the Princess, "Your child will bear every sadness possibly can! Darkness will rule the child! Your child will bring chaos to the world!"

Princess Yueliang passed out after Jiao-Long cursed her.

"I don't understand! Why did you curse her future child Jiao-Long?! Why did you do something like that?!"

"Hmmpft, seems like you don't know anything Do you!?"

"What do you mean?"

"That Master of ours altered your and the Princess's memories for you to be able to pass the final Trial, the Feelings of Truth. Haven't you noticed? Are you remembering things that you didn't do? When we were in the mortal realm, you confessed to each other and both of you tied the knot. And that love of yours created life!"

"Yes, Princess should be pregnant with your Child! Haha!"

"After that incident, the Sect did not have a Sect Master for a few years. I went down from Immortal land to visit the Princess and Longwei, while looking for the next Successor." Master Lü said and sighed. He again continued, "After the Princess gave birth to her child, another child came out. One was a girl, and she is Princess Yǐ sī tiē. While the other one is a boy. After the birth of their children, they left the sect to live a normal life in mortal realm. I never heard from them since."

"What happened to Jiao-Long?"

"After checking everything, we uncovered that Jiao-Long went to the Netherworld and sold his soul to gain dark power."

"So that is where he got his dark power."

"Yes."

"If both of her parents left Penglai to live a normal life as mortals, why did the Princess end up in the Palace?"
