The calm before the storm

about him making me love him was something I was so sure about because my friend was the most amazing person I have ever met and Everytime I used to say that the woman who will get him has one of the rarest gemstones.

morning came and my friend indeed came to my house to help me pack. and he pretended as if yesterday never happened.

my friend was really helpful with everything and I was happy that this didn't ruin our friendship and I bet he felt relief as well.

"so when are you leaving for home?" I asked my friend

"when you leave" he replied being fully focused on what he was doing. I didn't want to ask why, a few moments more we decided to rest, I got him some water and he drank it, he was quite for a while and staring ahead trying to catch a breath when out of the blue he asked

"so he's the one?"

"who? I asked

"the guy I met yesterday at your house and the same guy I met at the ceremony, is he the one" he asked still staring ahead and without looking at me.

"yes I said awkwardly

"when, how did you meet him? how long has it been? and why didn't you tell me?, I thought we shared everything together?

"I didn't think it was important" I said

"my best friend meeting a guy she likes for once was not important?" he said

"I thought it wasn't and hey! let's not talk about it"

"of course we shouldn't talk about it" he said and that topic never popped up until I heard a knock on my door and it was Manuel

"I came to visit you" with that he entered my room

"why didn't you call" I asked Manuel but he just stared at me and my friend and asked

"why is he here?"

"why can't he be here? he's my friend and we are packing up my stuff" I said

"your friend? do you know what this guy told me yesterday? he said I was just lucky with you and that I only got you because of his advice and him wasting time" Manuel said

after a moment of silence I heard Manuel again

"ain't you going to say anything?"
