Chan was hesitant to let the two go by themselves. He didn't know exactly what Bambang had up his sleeve, but he knew whatever it was, Chaoxiang deserved it. He remembered what Chaoxiang did to those poor children. His mouth formed a line, but someone lightly tapped on his shoulder, gaining his attention. Chan sighed, looking at the man beside him. It was his old friend. "Is that the boy you have been talking to me about?"
Chan shook his head. He knew who the other was talking about, Yang. "No, no. That's my friend's friend. He's-" "A vampire hunter?" The man asked. Chan looked over at him for a moment, the man pointing to his finger. "He's either married, or a vampire hunter." Chan sighed, nodded. "He is, but he isn't going to use it against us." Chan said.
Yinying smiled, before shaking his head. "I know he won't. You're not an idiot Chan." Yinying laughed softly. Chan smiled, rolling his eyes. "Wow, rude." Chan laughed, shaking his head. Yinying shrugs. "Sorry, was that too serious for you?" Yinying asked, raising an eyebrow. He crosses his arms. Chan lightly shakes his head. "No, no. I'm just shocked that something good actually came out of your mouth. You are always so-"
There was a loud scream, coming from a crack in the door, allowing cold air to float into the bar. Yinying and Chan stared at each other, both of their smiles fading. Chan was worried, because he knew something that Yinying didn't. That wasn't Bambang's voice. They both stood up, but before they could move, another shout was heard, but unlike the last, Chan recognised the words.
"Chasseur, chasseur!"
It was a code that Beau Mort had given vampires. If there was a hunter that wasn't part of the council that was attacking a vampire, if others hear that, most vampires would go to help. So, multiple vampires stood from their places, on guard. Some stared at Yinying and Chan for instruction, since they were elders. But Yinying stared at Chan. "Please tell me that he's a part of the council.."Yinying whispered softly. Chan stayed silent for a moment, before nodding his head.
Chan quickly ran out of the bar, trusting Yinying to take care of the other vampires. He ran on the darkened sidewalk, looking for a specific person. Looking for Bambang. He didn't necessarily worry about Bambang's health, he knew the man could protect himself, but he was more worried about Bambang getting ambushed by twenty five vampires. He scanned each alley quickly, looking for the two. Were they even in an alley? Suddenly, he heard Bambang's voice from behind him. "Uh, Chan? Why are you running?" Chan quickly stopped, turning around to look at Bambang, who crossed his hands. Chan was quick, storming up to Bambang. His clothes were nice and his hair wasn't messy. He looked like he did at the bar.
"Come on. The vampires know something's up. And they saw you walk out with Chaoxiang. If they see you, you're screwed." Chan said quickly. Bambang looked confused, for a moment, before nodding. "Where are we going?" Bambang asked, looking up at him. Chan's concerned look turned into a smile. "My place-"
"THERE!" A small group of vampires yell from behind Bambang. Chan grabs Bambang's hand, pulling him. The boy didn't exactly know where he lived. Chan's apartment wasn't exactly the closest place from here, but it wasn't to far. He heard the steps of the vampires behind them and as they turned the corner, Chan saw another group. One of the vampires he didn't even know. They must have heard the call, even though they weren't in the bar. "Shit." Bambang whispered.
Chan looked around as the two groups from each side surrounded them. He saw a small alleyway, across the street. Chan quickly pulled Bambang with him, running into the dark alleyway. "I can't see." Bambang said, his voice echoing from his voice. "Trust me." Chan said. Chan glanced behind himself, seeing the groups of vampires, forming a single crowd, blocking the exit. He saw a fire escape, jumping up to grab the bar. He climbed up, assuming Bambang was going to do the same, but when he looked down, he saw Bambang trying to reach. With a force of effort he grabbed Bambang by his hand, pulling him up onto the ladder.
He climbed up, hopping onto the roof, before helping Bambang up. He knew the vampires would be up any minute, but he had a plan. He walked over to the door that was used as an entrance to the building from the roof, entering it. He allowed light to flood in before walking to the other side. Bambang watched him quietly. "Let's hope they fall for it." Chan whispered, before walking over to Bambang's face, now illuminated.
Bambang's eyes were a soft green, now brightened by the moon hung in the sky. His hair was both shaken and disturbed, dark brown with streaks of red, the color as deep as blood. His feline-like eyes and sharp nose stared up at Chasn as he panted from the long sprint, his face flushed as his feet slowed to a stop. His jacket and hair waved solemnly in the wind, waving at Chan.
Softly, the air around them began to move, a spring breeze floating around them. Yet nothing else moved. The sounds of footsteps, metal creaking, cars, everything slowly deteriorated into nothing. His footsteps were soft and quiet as he hesitantly walked up to Bambang. He placed a hand on the other's flushed cheek, before tilting his head up and looking into Bambang's green eyes.
Chan slightly leaned in, placing his lips on Bambang's. His eyes fluttered shut as stillness engulfed his body. Bambang didn't shove Chan off, nor did he attempt to fight back. Instead, the two both stood there, for what appeared like minutes, yet also like mere seconds. Bambang stepped back, Chan's eyes floated open as a result. He just….. Why did he do that?
"Let's go home."
