Jingfei, after hanging out with Wei, Yang, and later on Ying, walked into Sweet Serve Coffee Shop. But not because he wanted a Day Dream Peaches and Cream. Sadly he couldn't drink those. Instead, he had work. Which worried him. It was the first day that he had to go back to work after he was turned. What worried him was the smell of customers.
Ying and Wei had given him some blood to take with him, and he was pretty full. But still. He was worried. He walked into the cafe, seeing no one at the front. "What the hell.." Usually when he would walk in, he would see someone in the front, and another in the back. However, no one was there. Jingfei was quick, taking his wind breaker off and handing it up, replacing the garment with a brown and gold apron. He runs to the counter, peeking through. He saw Lin Feng in the back, placing something in the oven. Before Lin Feng could look up, Jingfei began to work.
A young girl walked in. It took Jingfei a moment to recognise her, but soon he did. It was the girl from the other day. Once again, without any parents. She skipped in, walking straight to the counter. Jingfei crouched down to get her cookie ready. "I have money!" She smiled happily, pouring coins out of her hand and onto the glass counter. Jingfei quickly counted up the coins. Thirty-seven dollars. Barely enough to buy a loaf of bread, and ironically a cookie.
"Can I have a slice of strawberry bread and a white chocolate macadamia nut cookie?" The girl asked. The strawberry bread was always popular, and there was one slice left. Jingfei nodded, going down to reach the bread, glazed with a strawberry spread. He placed the piece of bread into a togo box, before adding everything into the bag. He slides it towards her. "Here you go." Jingfei smiled as the girl took it, leaving the money for him.
She skipped out as Jingfei poured the money into the register.

Screw whatever Jingfei said earlier about him loving his job. About him never wanting to stop working at Sweet Serve Coffee Shop. He wanted to burn the whole place down by this point. Ying had told him it was going to be hard the first day. That he would have to get used to it. The scents, the urges. Jingfei really thought he was ready, he wasn't.
His hands were jittery, and his eyes were focused on everything in the room besides the food. Every person in the room. Every feast- A young man steps into the small cafe, with a nice suit and tie. He seemed fancy, like he just got from work. Avalanche Companies. That's what his tie said. He walked up to the counter, looking up at the menu. "What's your specials today?" The man asked.
Jingfei racked his brain for the right answer. He had it memorized before, didn't he? The man smelled of Cherry Cola, as it poured straight from the fountain machine. Foaming up with condensation droplets at the edge of the cold glass. The vibrant red color of the Coca-Cola company on the machine as the darkened red liquid poured out. It wasn't Cherry Cola, it was blood.
"Excuse me?" The man said. His voice didn't seem like he was annoyed, however he was definitely confused. Jingfei looked up at the man, clearing his throat. For a moment, Jingfei's mind stood still. Jingfei stared at the man, someone whispering in his ear. Just one bite. Just one bite would be enough.
Jingfei licked his teeth, smiling softly. But before he could do anything, there was a sharp tug of his cardigan, the person pulling it back. Lin Feng stepped up, Jingfei standing behind him. "Our specials today are Daisy Punch and Forever Red smoothies. As for bagels we are having a menu deal for a Pepperoni and Cheddar Cheese Croissant with a medium sized smoothie." Lin Feng said simply. Jingfei laid his head on When he died, Lin Feng whispered in his ear.
"Get out. Go into the kitchen." Lin Feng said, and Jingfei nodded. He sucked in a breath, stepping away and walking into the kitchen, where there were no people, thankfully. Jingfei collapsed to the floor, laying his head on the cold, metal fridge, letting his legs spread out onto the concrete floor, his eyes shut. But his eyes open, scanning the room.
When he saw what he was looking for, his bag, he was quick to walk over. He unzipped the bag, shuffling through it. He grabbed the vampire cat that Ying had got him, before sitting down on the ground again, gripping the cat. His eyes shut once again as he sat there. Every bone in his body told him to stand up and walk back out there. Biter the first living human he saw.
The door to the kitchen opened, before it shut. Both times Jingfei didn't look up. But the voice told him exactly who it was. "I don't know why you don't pack blood." Lin Feng muttered, his footsteps being heard as he walked across the kitchen. Jingfei didn't say anything. "Idiot." Lin Feng continued. Suddenly, a heavy object fell onto Jingfei's lap.
The vampling opened his eyes, to see a black water bottle. It was heavy and full. Jingfei picked it up. No normal human would be able to pick this up. But Jingfei Wasn't normal, nor was he human. Jingfei looked up at Lin feng, but the other wasn't looking at him. "Don't drink it all. I still need some." Jingfei looked back down at the big water bottle. He flipped up the straw, taking a sip.
It was exactly what he had smelled. Cherry Cola. The artificial and sweetened taste of normal Coke, added the fruity flavor and the slight sourness of actual cherries. It tasted just like it, both cold and delicious. However, there was that iconic earthy aftertaste all blood had. No matter what the flavor. Irony and slightly bitter. Jingfei didn't know how much he drank, but it seemed Lin Feng didn't mind it.
He lowered the straw from his mouth. "Thanks. I owe you." Jingfei smiled softly at Lin Feng, but he only rolled his eyes. "Whatever. Stop acting like your five and put that stuffed animal away. I want my paycheck in full." Lin Feng grumbled, walking out and into the main room. J vingfei took a second more, calming mostly his breathing, before standing up. The vampire cat was small enough to be placed in one of his apron pockets, before walking back out. His mind was as clear as day.
