Even though Chan and Ying had been leading him for a good ten minutes, Jingfei didn't even recognise this part of Hong Kong. Were they even in Hong Kong? At this point, it seems they were somewhere in China. Chan looked over at Ying. "You didn't teach him?" Chan asked, his voice worried, yet it was shadowed by his giddiness. Ying sighed, rubbing his face for a moment before nodding.
"What was I supposed to tell him?"
"Just tell him what Wei told you.."
"Wei didn't teach me.. I found out myself.."
Jingfei listened to their soft murmurs, but after a while, he had gotten tired of it. Jingfei yawned, gaining both of their attention. He looked at both of them, bored. "Just tell me." He was curious, and it didn't seem bad, even if they were hesitant about sharing the information. Chan and Ying stared at him, with two different expressions. Worry, and excitement.
"So you know how you almost attacked Bambang yesterday?"
・‥…━━━━━━━☆☆━━━━━━━…‥・
A….. personality…. What the hell?
"So basically, what you're saying is that every vampire has borderline personality disorder?"Jingfei asked, his voice both sarcastic and not interested in their games. That was impossible, the reason why Jingfei attacked Bambang was because he was going crazy, not because of some magical personality that he had.
"N- no. Not what I'm saying." Ying sighed, pinching his nose. Chan placed a hand on his shoulder. Jingfei couldn't tell if he was trying to be funny, or if they were being serious. "Think about it this way." Ying sighed, looking up at Jingfei. "Remember how I said a long time ago that you met the real Chan, not the persona, right? Tell me you remember that.." Ying asked, Jingfei slowly nodding.
He did. They were out shopping when Jingfei had asked him a question. Ying was explaining how all vampires try to look very good. Which was one hundred percent true. Even now. Instead of Chan's sweats and Ying's normal plaid trousers, they both had on black shirts, Ying's being a ruffled top, while Chan having a more lace top. However, both vampires held a red and black theme, with Ying's coat being a crimson, whilst Chan's velvet blazer and shoes carried the same aesthetic.
They both looked like extremely hot vampires.
Jingfei nodded. "Uh, yeah. I remember." Jingfei said hesitantly. That conversation was a while ago though, why would he bring that up. Ying sighed. "Think about it this way. Chan looks super intimidating, right-"Chan looked at Ying with an amused expression. He started posing in different ways, some comedic while others genuinely made him look scary. Like he had control of Hong Kong.
Ying barely gave Chan a glance, only rolling his eyes at Chan's motive. "Anyway, he doesn't usually look like this. You know that. However- you know what." Ying turned to Chan, who was in a very…. Compromising position. Well pose. His arms were hunched back in a hilarious position, with one leg bent and the other straightened, creating a weird look.
However when Chan noticed Ying was looking he quickly stood up straight, placing one hand in his pocket, and another perpendicular to the ground. "What's up?" Chan asked, a smile present on his face once again, as if he hadn't been doing anything. Ying and Jingfei both stared at him, before Jingfei started laughing. Ying, however, tired of Chan's shenanigans, sighed. "Go hunt someone." Ying sighed.
Chan was somewhat shocked by Ying's words, looking weirdly at the young vampire. "You want me to hunt someone? Why?" Chan questioned, his voice confused. Jingfei looked at Ying as well. What was the point in Chan hunting? Probably Ying just wanted him to go away. That would be hilarious. However, Ying didn't seem to mean his words like that.
"Go hunt someone, and we'll watch."
Chan and Jingfei both looked at Ying with a shocked expression, as if he had asked them to jump off a bridge. However, Chan's expression changed to a neutral one, and he shrugged. "Cool." He smiled. Jingfei then turned to Chan, giving him the same weirded out expression he had once given Ying. Was it that easy? How was he supposed to watch Chan in such someone's blood? How was he supposed to do that? Well, do that and not throw up then and there?
"You just- that's it…? We're just going to watch him bite someone?" Jingfei asked worriedly. Will he see a dead body, will he see Chan dragging the dead body off? Will he see the vampire in the process of killing them, would he be an accomplice? How was he supposed to not get sick?!
Ying turned and frowned at him, his soft worrying eyes appearing once again. However, before he could say anything remotely comforting, Chan spoke up. " Actually, Jingfei's right. I don't think you guys want to see me grind on someone's dick just for-" Ying struck Chan in the back of the neck, glaring at him. However Jingfei had already heard enough.
"Sorry, sorry. I'll keep it for the little guy. Jeez.." Chan mumbled, rubbing his neck where Ying had smacked him. Ying sighed, shaking his head. "No, no. You're not doing anything. I'll hunt." Ying muttered, probably tired of both of them. Jingfei wouldn't lie, he felt bad that Ying was wasting his night like this. Why should he have to waste his time just to teach Jingfei something every vampire should know how to do?
Chan gasped dramatically, holding his hand to his mouth. Ying sighed, walking ahead of them slightly. Chan quickly stepped forward, Jingfei quickly following. The three casually walked, silence followed their footsteps. Jingfei himself had nothing to say. He knew Chan to be more risky, but he never thought about how Ying could hunt, never knew what he did, he hurt people.
Soon enough, they had reached their destination. Jingfei looked around, not recognising a single store. It seemed like an outside mall, lit up with my different colored lights. They were near humans again, many holding shopping bags filled with clothing and other goods. As Jingfei looked up at the building they were staring into, blue and purple light leaked through the floors. Jingfei read the neon lit sign.
"The Peak."
Jingfei thought for a moment before sighing. No wonder he couldn't recognise a single building nor brand. Jingfei wasn't raised poor, but he wasn't raised rich either. The Peak, that area of Hong Kong is only for the rich folk. Many would disagree, but Jingfei knew it was true. You're either rich, or want to look rich. Either way, it was obvious why they were here.
If they were going to steal, why not steal from the rich?
Ying adjusted his long coat on himself, before combing a hand through his hair. As he looked at both their outfits, he realized something. They both looked rich. Like, mega corporations are internationally rich. They looked richer than most of the folk that lived in The Peak. They would fit in perfectly, but not only that. Ying and Chan could get someone to feast on in no time.
Then Jingfei looked down at his own clothes. He looked.. Just like them. From the black trousers, to the red boots and crimson paperboy hat. Jingfei looked like one of them. He had first thought in \the beginning, that he could never fit in with the vampire crowd. He would never look like them. Yet, here he was. Jingfei smiled.
Ying rolled his shoulders, looking back at Chan and Jingfei. He didn't look like he did before. Well, he did. However, there were still minor differences. Like his smile was darker, creepier for sure. His eyes seemed to pierce Jingrfei's soul, a dark and grim look to them. " Go across the street and hide behind a dumpster or something, I'll meet you guys there." Ying said.
And with that, he walked out.
