Chapter 49: The Dead

Bambang calmly sat on the couch, watching Yang and Chan play video games. Yang had come back to Wei's house a little less than an hour ago, with the news that Jingfei, Kai, and Lin Feng had all gone by themselves. Bambang didn't exactly know, or care, about who won or lost. He was barely watching the race. Insteadhe was relaxing to the cute music that went along with the game. Chan or Yang cheering every now and then was just a plus. "YA! CHAN! YOU CAN'T JUST DO THAT!" Yang yelled, slightly louder than what Bambang would call usual. Bambang's eyes opened to see both his and Yang's control, holding it up so Yang couldn't reach. Yang reached up to grab it, but he was just a little too short.

Chan laughed, continuing to play on his controller with one hand. "What? What do you mean?" Chan said innocently. Bambang snorted as his phone rang. Bambang reached over, but Chan grabbed it first, snatching his phone away from Bambang's hand. Bambang didn't yell or hit Chan as the vampire, instead watching for his reaction.

"Hello?" Chan said sweetly into the phone. The room was silent, the game paused as they waited for Chan to give an answer to who it could be. His happy expression faulted for a moment, before nodding to the person on the phone. "Got it." Chan said, his voice cheeky as he hung up. He looked at Bambang.

"A Casse, near Nathan Road. Threat level two."

At first, Bambang didn't understand his words. But Yang made it very clear. "Ugh, go on and kill some vampire that doesn't deserve it." Yang muttered. Bambang sighed, reaching over and snatching his phone back from Chan's hand. "That's why you don't steal my stuff." Bambang huffed, going to grab his bag. He had already had some basic silver weapons from earlier, just in case things went astray, and the vampire wasn't too dangerous. But still, Bambang should be safe.

He grabbed his bag, standing up. Chan looked over. "Wait, you're really going to go?" Chan asked, a confused expression on his face. He seemed slightly hurt, but Bambang didn't. "This is how I make money, so unless I want JIngfei to kick me out, I need to leave." Bambang said simply, before stepping outside the house. Similar to the early day, the night was warm, the moon creating a nice greeting to Bambang.

As he walked down the smooth steps of the house, he heard the door open again. He didn't turn around, knowing who it was. Bambang looked inside his bag, seeing an extra knife. He was going to have to ask Lin Feng where he put his other one. Bambang continued his trail out. He had to go back to his apartment to grab a couple of more tools before he can begin his hunt-

"Wait up!" Chan yelled, running up to Bambang. The human had a feeling the vampire would want to join him. Sadly. "If your looking for a fuck at the end of this, it's not going to happen." Bambang huffed, not giving him anything more than a glance before walking back towards his apartment.

Chan scoffed, however not saying a word. The two were quiet on the way back to Bambang's and Jingfei's apartment. The entire walk was quiet, only the sound of footsteps and the soft hum of cars filled Bambang's ear. He was shocked that the elder didn't say anything to him, yet he didn't mind it. He didn't have to hear Chan's voice. That wasn't a bad thing.

He had a feeling the vampling might be at the apartment, since he, Yang, and Kai had all split up. However, when Bambang unlocked the door to the apartment, he didn't see Jingfei. Instead, he found the entire living room a mess. Bambang froze at the doorway, not walking in. Did he go into the wrong apartment. How could it be so… messy.

Random items seemingly thrown everywhere wer scattered across the floor. It was the mess that happened over time, instead it was a quick burst. The door to the closet was swung open, the lights in the kitchen and living room turned on. Bambang slowly walked inside. Jingfei couldn't have done this. He wasn't a messy person, he liked cleanliness. There was no way that same man could create such a-

"Mess. It's a mess.." Bambang whispered to himself. His inner maid was about to clean this apartment, before he felt the soft breeze floating in it. But not from the door, instead from the window that was cracked over… for some reason. Bambang sighed, walking over to close the window. "What happened?" Chan asked, kicking a pillow that laid on the kitchen floor. Bambang locked the door, before turning to Chan. "I… don't know. But he was obviously in a rush-"

"Bambang.."

Chan's voice was soft as he turned around to face Bambang, a gun in his hand. A gun? A silver bullet gun.. Did Jingfei go through his things? Was he looking for a silver weapon. Why? "Is it loaded?" Bambang asked, walking up to Chan. He took the gun to Chan and didn't accidently touch silver. Bambang poured out the bullets onto the table and counted them. There were six bullets left. Bambang doesn't load his guns to full capacity, but just in case of an emergency, he always loads his gun to ten.

"He shot something four times." Bambang mumbled, sliding the gun on the counter with the silver bullets. Chan's eyes widened for a moment, before sighing. Bambang stared at the gun and silver bullets that- Wait. Bambang froze, staring down at the silver bullets. Or what Bambang thought were silver bullets. "They're mocks.." Bambang muttered. Mock bullets. TO scare vampires, but not actually hurt them. Jingfei used mock bullets on a vampire. Bullets he thought would kill the vampire, but don't.

"Call him." Chan said quickly.

Bambang grabbed his phone, tapping Jingfei's number out before placing his phone to his ear. He heard only ringing for a moment, before someone picked up. "Hello?" It wasn't Jingfei's voice. It was Lin Feng's. "Lin Feng? Where's Jingfei?" Bambang didn't greet the vampling, he didn't have time for that.

He heard the voice of Jingfei in the background. "Hey Bambang!" Jingfei yelled. Bambang and Chan both sighed a breath of relief. "What happened in the apartment? Why did you use my gun?" Bambang wasn't necessarily mad that Jingfei was using his stuff, since he knew the other was safe. However, it was still worrying. Lin Feng snickered while Jingfei laughed. "Oh huh.. We were being chased.." Jingfei laughed. Bambang looked at Chan for a moment before looking back down at the phone. "By what?"

"A crazy vampire."
