He tossed the pair to Jingfei, who caught it easily. He placed the blue and gray oven mitts on, before reaching to grab the box. He lifted the heavy item out of the closet and onto Bambang's floor, where a lock was seen. Lin Feng gripped the lock, placing his foot on the edge of the box and yanking hard, the lock breaking with ease. Thank you for vampire strength.
Jingfei opened the box, to reveal many different types of guns, knives, and silver chains. Anything that could kill a vampire. It was horrifying. "Careful." Lin Feng whispered, as Jingfei reached into the box. He didn't know what to get, he didn't know what would work the best. "Here.." Jingfei said, handing Lin Feng a knife with a carved flower silver.
Suddenly, there was the sound of creaking, soft yet still prominent in the halls of the apartment. Jingfei looked up at Lin Feng, who was staring back at him with widened eyes. After that, there was the sound of soft, rhythmic taps. Not necessarily on the walls, but instead on the floors. The taps were heavy, with no reason for the thing to be silent.
Jingfei saw the shadow. The shadow casted onto the wall from across the hall, where Jingfei's room lay. It was the vampire. It's body had straightened, it's arms walking calmly through the hall, the taps matching up with its leg movements. It knew they were in here. What did it want?! It was obvious Lin Feng and Jingfei weren't humans! Why would it want them?!
As the Casse approached, JIngfei reached into the box, grabbing a smooth black revolver. He shook off his oven mitts, pointing the heavy gun at the entrance of the room and cocked it, a smooth click making the vampire stop in it's tracks. It knows. It knows that Jingfei had a gun. It knew Jingfei was ready to shoot any second.
The vampire stayed at it's spot for a second, and for that second Jingfei thought that it would turn around and run away. If only that's what it did. The vampire quickly ran into the room, barely giving Jingfei enough time to pull the trigger, the shining bullet going straight into the vampire's arm. The vampire continued running towards the two vamplings.
Then there were three more sharp sounds.
One for each bullet shot at the vampire.
One in the leg.
One in the stomach.
And one in the neck.
The vampire gripped it's neck, and Jingfei got barely a glimpse of it's face. A girl, young and tall, grabbed her neck as she fell onto her knees. The two vamplings stood there in shock, watching the vampire collapse. But, unlike last time, JIngfei was the one to tug of Lin Feng's sleeve.
He stood up, holding the gun in his hand. "Let's go." Jingfei said quickly. Lin Feng nodded, running out of the room, jumping over her dead body to reach the messy living room. Jingfei sighed a breath of relief, holding the pistol close to himself while walking across the living room. Lin Feng sighed. "Nice aim."
Jingfei turned to look at the vampire, who was over by the kitchen. Jingfei walked over, placing the gun on the table. Slowly, realization hit him. He just shot a gun at a living being. And killed them. JIngfei stared down at the gun, with wide sorrowful eyes. His stomach twisted and turned in a way that made him nauseous, his head turning light. Jingfei sighed shakily. NOw wasn't the time to think of that. Now wasn't the time to be scared. He could hear Lin Feng talking, but he didn't listen. Not until another voice called his name.
"Jingfei…"
Jingfei turned around, seeing the young girl, her voice dark and sinister. She stood in the doorway that lead to his room, leaning on the wall. She leaned on the wall. She was hurt. But she wasn't dead. "Jingfei!" Jingfei's first instinct was to grab the gun, but he was pulled by Lin Feng towards the window. The window that led to the roof. Jingfei stared at the girl that called his name in a way no one had done before.
Lin Feng continued pulling JIngfei as the girl spoke again in her rugged voice. "I have a message for you." She said, her voice scratchy and broken. "Come on!"Lin Feng yelled, pushing JIngfei out the window. The cold breeze was a shock to Jingfei, but he quickly recovered, standing up on the fire escape. He ran up the stairs to the roof, as he heard Lin Feng doing the same behind him. He turned to the vampling that was climbing onto the roof. "Please tell me you have the knife." Jingfei begged quietly. Lin Feng showed the carved knife in his hand. "Ignore what she is saying, okay?" Lin Feng says, walking up to Jingfei, who slowly nodded.
Soon enough, they heard the sound of another person walking up the fire escape. Both vamplings froze once again in terror, watching as the young girl walked onto the roof. Both vamplings slowly step back from the girl, as she slowly walks forwards. "I have a message for you.." The girl groans out, her footsteps heavy.
Lin Feng stepped away from Jingfei, holding his hands up. Jingfei froze, watching the vampire. "You want Jingfei, not me! So… take him! Don't kill me!" Lin Feng yells, walking away from both the girl and JIngfei.
It was as if his entire soul was sucked from his body, all his thoughts and movements seizing as he listened to Lin Feng's words. He stared at the vampire, in both shock and grief. He should have known. Everyone would save their own skin. He didn't know Lin Feng all that well, and he wasn't ever too nice to JIngfei. He should have expected something like this. Only the best win at the game of life, right?
The girl looked at Lin Feng, a twisted smile on her lips. She turned to look back at Jingfei, the young vampire shaking and scared for his life. She ran to him, and Jingfei didn't run, instead letting her push him to the concrete ground. She grabbed his shirt, pulling him up to her. Jingfei shaky breath left his body as the girl whispered in his ear. "The fall of the-"
Suddenly the girl stopped, her hand relaxing, causing Jingfei to fall to the concrete ground once again. And then the girl's body fell on top of his, Lin Feng stand with a bloody knife in his hand. Jingfei quickly pushed the vampire off of him, standing up to Lin Feng's height. Lin Feng threw the knife, continuing to stare at Jingfei.
"You know I would never let you die like that."
