Chapter 65: The Dark

Jingfei laughed softly, nodding his head. "Vampire edition? Now I'm curious." In Jingfei's mind, he was questioning if he should tell Lin Feng about Kai or not. He knew Yuao would find out, but he worried that Lin Feng might do something stupid. Or dangerous. Plus, he didn't want Lin Feng to be sad. Lin Feng shrugged his shoulders casually, opening the door to allow Jingfei into the kitchen. Technically it was for staff only, and though Jingfei was a customer at the time, he was also with the owner's sun, so that made it slightly better, right?

Jingfei stepped inside the booth, opening the metal doors to the kitchen. Jingfei waved at Da Hong, who was rolling the dough. She smiled and waved back. "I'm not used to seeing you when we're not working. It's weird seeing you in normal clothes." Da Hong snickered. Jingfei looked down at himself. He was wearing some of the clothes he stashed at Wei's house. He wouldn't lie, it was definitely some of his nicer clothes, but still something he would wear. "Thanks… I think."

Lin Feng scooted past Jingfei to grab his water bottle, lifting it up. "Come on." Lin Feng said with a bored expression, grabbing Jingfei's hand. Da Hong rolled her eyes, making crazy signs around her head while Lin Feng was looking away. Jingfei laughed softly, being pulled out of the kitchen. "Your so mean to everyone else." Jingfei pointed out.

Lin Feng barely glanced at him, pouring in peach tapioca pearls. He calmly shrugged. "I'm very rude an mean." Lin Feng said, stopping for a moment to look Jingfei directly in the eyes. "But I'm also loved by many customers." Lin Feng smirked, before going back to pouring his drink. Just like other times, Lin Feng's long hair was pulled up into a cute ponytail, with leather pants and a leather jacket. It was the same outfit, just different shirts every time. This one was a star wars shirt. He would never wear an apron like Jingfei and…

"What's up with the face. You keep looking like that. It makes me worried." Lin Feng said, beginning to pour the blood like it was strawberry syrup into the cup. He casually slid it over to Jingfei. "Here. This might warm you up." Lin Feng said with a small smile, as Jingfei stared at him hesitantly. He nods, grabbing the cup. 'I'm a vampire. Nothing can warm me up." JIngfei scoffed.

Jingfei took a small sip of the Daydream Peaches and Cream, and it tasted the exact same as the original. The sweetness and sour of the peaches with the cool tapioca pearls and creamy whipped cream on top. It didn't taste like there was nothing wrong with the drink. Besides the subtleness of an earthy taste. Irony and dirt tasting. However, unlike the first time Jingfei had ever tasted blood, this time it tated delicious to him.

He hummed, nodding his head. Lin Feng gave him a prideful expression. Jingfei rolled his eyes, shaking his head. His thoughts of Kai vanished in his mind. "Gotta say, you didn't do bad." Jingfei compliments. He takes another sip of the refreshing drink. Lin Feng casually shrugged, pushing the loose strands of his vibrant red hair out of his face. "Well, you shouldn't be too shocked, I am a barista after all."

Jingfei didn't say anything after that, only silently tool out his bag. He grabbed his wallet, getting ready to shut his bag once again, but Lin Feng's words stop him. "Is that a gun?" Lin Feng asked worriedly. For a moment Jingfei didn't know what the boy meant, but once he did he sighed.

He had stashed the gun in his bag on his way here, since walking around Hong Kong with a gun in his hand isn't the best thought. Jingfei quickly shut his bag, though there was no reason to lie. Lin Feng had already seen him. Jingfie slowly nodded. "Yeah.. I'm just holding it for Bambang." Jinjgfei answered shortly, shutting himself up with another sip of the red liquid. Lin Feng could tell Jingfei was lying, and Jingfei knew that.

Though the vampling didn't question further, instead leaning down to look at Jingfei. 'What shall we do now?" Lin Feng asked, his voice lower. Jingfei looked up at him for a short moment, before rolling his eyes. "I have to go home." Jingfei answered calmly, not buying into Lin Feng's words. Lin bFeng leaned back, nodding. "Well, if you must leave.." Lin Feng sighed. Jingfei continued to silently stare at him, waiting for the vampire to continue, which he soon did.

"I guess you should go home with a gift, right?" Lin Feng asked. Jingfei tilted his head slightly in confusion. A gift? Lin Feng had a gift for Jingfei. Jingfei frowned slightly. He didn't want a gift, but from his friends. It would make him feel bad for not getting one for Lin Feng. "I just saw it and thought it was cool. Here." Lin Feng said, reaching into his pocket to grab a red boix, before sliding it over to the other vampling. "I found it at a vampire store while I was out with Yuao." Lin Feng informed further.

Jingfei opened the box to reveal a bright blue crystal, shaped into a heart. A shimmery glassy texture that formed rainbows in the center. It was hooked up to a diamond necklace, shimmering just as much as the precisely shaped jewel. JIngfei smiled softly, as Lin Feng looked hopefully at the boy. "The lady at the store said that it works just like Pyrope, and it was supposedly better. There was one left in stock. I thought the red might be a bit harsh, and the blue would look good on you." Lin Feng said with a smile.

"How much did this cost?" Jingfei asked, shutting the velvet box that trapped the jewel necklace. Lin Feng smiled.

"I won't tell you. I'm not trying to buy you, it just reminded me of you."
