Wei's pace was with focus as he walked towards the council hall. He knew his friend of a hundred years wouldn't be there. He knew the Ox wouldn't be there either. Both now dead by Yuao's vampires. He didn't know how long he knocked on Ah Lam's door. But when Chan had called him and told him to go to the council hall, he irritatedly listened. And there she laid, just a couple minutes away. Her body was still warm. Seems she was going to the same meeting Wei was.
Her face was scratched to the point of unrecognition. Only way he could recognise her was her little purse. One she always carried with her. Pink with a red cherry design on the inside. She said she got it right before the second war. They were on sale, so she had to get one. Wei let out a shaky sigh, and as he saw Chan standing outside the council hall, his pace only quickened.
He hugged Chan as tightly as he could, placing his head on Chan's shoulder. Chan sighed, rubbing Wei's back. The two were very close, but they weren't touchy. That wasn't the type of relationship Wei and Chan had. But now, it is different. Now Wei ached to see his best friend again. Just wanted to hear her laugh and roll her eyes. Chan's hug was just as tight.
"I'm sorry.." Chan stated, as Wei sniffled, crystal tears beginning to form in his eyes. "Don't be." Wei whispered softly, finally letting go of Chan. He wiped his tears with his hands, before fixing his hair. "It makes me feel just a little less sympathy for the man." Wei sighed, adjusting his jacket. That's when he noticed both Ying and Bambang. "Three more vampires have died in the last six hours. Ah Lam, including that it's now four." Bambang stated softly. "Yuao's getting friskier." Bambang sighed. Wei slid his phone into his pocket, nodding his head. "Snake is here. I've called a silent meeting. So it will be just us and Snake." Wei explained, beginning to walk inside the council. He could feel Bambang, Chan, and Ying following behind him. He scanned the rooms in the halls. He looked for Snake's room.
"Wei." Ying called, stopping at a shut door. It was the only shut door in the hall. Wei nodded to him, Ying knocking the wooden door. For a moment, they heard nothing, before a young boy's voice entered their ears. "Come in." Wei stopped Ying from opening the door, walking in front of him. "Behind me."
Wei opened the door to see Snake sitting down at his chair. He held a book in his hand. Snake was younger than Yang, yet was older than Chan. He looked up at the door, a serpent created eye holes that he could see out of, his rose gold eyes looking up at Wei. "You called?" Snake stated with a sigh, shutting his book. Wei walked in, sitting down in the chair.
Chan stands behind his chair, while Ying and Bambang sit beside him. "A human? Wei I hope the reason you asked for me will not waste my-" "My name is Yao Bambang. I am a Council Hunter. I am not just a regular human." Bambang stated simply crossing his own arms. Wei could see Ying smile, even if the vampire hid it well. Snake looked over at him, and smiled. "Yao Bambang, I recognised that name." Snake said wisely.
"Snake, I wanted to talk to you about the new law that will be enforced at dusk. Dog made a law that allowed vampires to attack others of their kind. Do you understand that a law like that will ruin the council. Vampire gangs will attack each other." Wei stated with worry, as Snake calmly looked at him. "Dog made that rule for a very good reason-"
"And what was that reason? Snake, you are the most reasonable out of all of the Cinq Masque. There is a vampire going around controlling other vampires. This all happened before the law was passed." huffed. Snake sighed exasperatedly. "Then we'll send a report to a hunter. Bambang, would you like to take the job-" Bambang, who did not respect anyone at this point, glared at Snake. "It's a little bigger than a hunter. I'll be killed before anything could happen."
Snaked sighed, looking back at Wei. "Did you come to complain to me about Dog, or about this vampire that is killing other vampires?" Snake asked. Wei looked down. "They are the same person, Snake." Ying explained, crossing his legs. Even with a mask, he felt like he could see the irritated look he was trying to hide. But silently, Chan was slowly beginning to irritate himself.
"Well, let's do this the civilized way, hm? Report it as a representative. I can't do anything. And after dusk, he can't be punished." Snake said. Chan let out a angered and shaky sigh.
"I think we all know that you can do something, Snake. I don't know what happened to you but you need to get your shit together. You know that this matter is serious, because it's not just some random vampire on the street thats getting threatened. One Cinq Masque already died-"
Snake stood up, looking at Chan with fierce eyes. "Excuse me. As The Snake I expect you to watch your tone." Snake said threateningly, his voice bold and dark. However Chan was just as dark. He reached into his bag, and Snake was quick, pulling out a small revolver. Something every Cinq Masque had in these small meetings. Chan stopped for a quick second, before tossing something dark onto the floor.
The item was mostly charcoal black, with gold outlining. A nose out like a lion, but ears pierced up like a cat. A string on the back of the mask was black as well. Chan's words were even more threatening. "As The Tiger, I expect you to do better than this." It seemed the entire room was quiet, as Snake slowly lowered his weapon.
"Cinq Masque rule number six.."
"Don't reveal your identity to other members. I know. But this is a little more important than the rules right now, Snake."
Snake was quiet, sliding his gun back into his pocket. He crossed his hands. "So it's more important than I thought." Snake mumbled. He looked down at the floor, as the others stared at him. Slowly Snake reached behind his head, unhooking his mask. He froze for a slight moment, before fully taking off his mask, looking back up at them.
"So..do you know the vampire's name?" Snake asked, placing his mask in his lap. He looked very young, and as Wei expected, he looked only about fifteen. "Yuao. He's an elder. He's making vamplings stronger using jewels that enhance a vampire's powers, and forcing them to kill other vampires. He wants to-"
Bambang's phone buzzed as Wei was talking. Wei stopped talking, watching as Bambang read whatever the notification was. He looked almost frantic as he looked up at Snake. "Do you have Tsavorite? Any of you?" Bambang asked. Snake looked at him with a weird expression. "The jewel? Why would we have that? And why would you want it?" Snake asked, beginning to put the mask back on his head. Bambang sighed.
"I think it's the only way to win against Yuao."
