Ying looked out on the Min Jiang river. It glistened as the bright son ihit it's blue waters. White bubbles create rain that fell close to Ying's face. "What's the time?" Chan asked from beside him. Each one of them had changed, with their clothes on over the leather suit. Chan checked his watch. "Four thirty eight. We should head over there." Chan said, looking back up over the water. The small oval shaped island seemed far.
"We need a ferry." Lin Feng mumbled. Snake had stayed at the underground station, as the other six went off to save their friend. And defeat their enemy. Each of them had different weapons tied to their lelgs and hips. Knives hidden in their socks and sleeves. Different guns hidden under their clothes. Yang and Lin Feng even had a knife in their pant hole. Just in case, Ying thinks. Just in case.
Chan casually waved one over, smiling in such a dire situation. A small yacht looking boat pushed water out of it's way as it floated over. An old man stood up to look at the group. "Group of seven. Over to that island over there." Chan said casually, a grin still on his face. Ying couldn't smile with him. "Okay, for six people?" The man did the math in his head.
"Ninety-three dollars, please." Ying grabbed his small bag, taking out that amount. He didn't count the money. If he had taken too much, the old man could keep it. He smiled and nodded, driving his small ship to the docking parler. "Let's go." Chan stated, grabbing onto Lin Feng's and Yang's hands, as if they were children. Everyone seemed silent, knowing both the fight and saving of Jingfei was just around the corner.
Ying stepped onto the shaky yacht, sitting down on the smooth white seat. Yang sat next to him, with Chan sitting on the other side. Ying could tell Yang was angry about something. He could tell by the way the boy sat, by the way he tapped his foot lightly on the floor. Ying sighed, looking over at the white haired boy. "What's wrong?" Ying asked. Yang didn't say anything, continuing to sit scrunched up, and continuing to tap his foot wildly. "Don't talk to me." Yang huffed.
Ying widened his eyes at the sudden aggression. Did he do something to make Yang mad? Usually when he is, he says something in the moment. "Um, did I do something to hurt you?" Ying asked, as the ferry began to drive to the island. Yang's foot stopped bouncing, the man quickly standing up. He turned not to Ying, but to Lin Feng. "You wanna watch the dolphins?" Yang asked quickly. Lin Feng looked at him weirdly, turning to Ying, who only silently shrugged. He didn't know what could be wrong with Yang. Well, he knew something that could be wrong.
"Um, there are dolphins in Min Jiang? Isn't this brackish though?" Lin Feng asked hesitantly. Yang glared at him, causing Lin Feng to sigh and stand up. "Fine, let's go.." He mumbled, beginning to walk on the opposite side of the ship. Ying turned to the others, crossing his arms. "Ignoring that.. What are you two going to do?" Ying asked.
Chan and Bambnag looked up, one having been looking at the river while the other looked at the ground. However Chan awkwardly laughed. "Uh.. haha… do you really think this is a good time to do that?" Chan asked hesitantly. Wei turned to Ying with a confused look., "What do you mean? What happened?" Wei asked. Ying forgot, Wei wasn't there for an explanation.
"Basically, Chan and Bambang have been sleeping together. Yang, who doesn't know about any of this might I add, tell Bambang that he likes Chan, in hopes they can become friends. Bambang promises to give Yang and Chan some time together, and then later on that night they slept together again. Yang caught the back end of it. Which is why he was sad and almost killed himself." Ying explained. Wei stared at Ying for a moment, before turning to look at Chan and Bambang. "You know both of you are assholes, right?" Wei asked efficiently. Chan and Bambang both nodded. Both Ying and Wei were silent, staring at him.
"I did try to talk to him. But then this happened, and then Jingfei was kidnapped. HIs birthday was supposed to be today. I was planning on us talking afterwards. But.. well yeah." Chan mumbled. The ferry stopped at the edge of the beach. "We're here!" The man yelled. It looked more like a desert than an island. The sandy beach extending towards the wooded forest. Ying stood up, walking towards the exit. "Let's talk about this after we save Jingfei." Ying sighed, carefully stepping off the boat.
Lin Feng and Yang already seemed to be walking towards the forest part of the island. "Should we go towards the middle, or stay at the shore?" Bambang asked, looking over at the others. "Let's go inside the forest. I don't think Yuao would play unfairly. If we're going to fight, we're going to fight head on." Wei explained.
The group began walked. First on the soft sand that laid on the edge of the island, before heading inwards. Tan sand turned to grassy moss that spread onto greens. The woods were dense, trees close together. There wasn't a path for them to walk on, so they had to trot in a random direction.
Soon they reached an opening, a campsite with three logs of it. A small pit for a fire. However, there wasn't a fire there. Instead, in the slight indent of the fire pit, laid a dead girl. SHe seemed young, no more than eight years old. Her clothes were soaked in blood, her body broken and bloodied in many places. Her face seemed to be hit multiple times, out of anger or sadness, Ying couldn't tell. A rock laid next to her head. She wasn't cut with a knife like most of Yuao's victoms. No. She was stoned to death.
"That's the girl. The girl that always went to the shop when Jingfei was there. He would always give her free cookies." Lin Feng said softly. Ying turned around to look at him. "You and Jingfei know her?" Ying asked. So that means she wasn't random. On accident or on purpose. "Yeah, she's almost always at the cafe at noon." Lin Feng sighed.
Ying slowly nodded as Wei reached down. He turned her heard lightly from one side to the other. "She suffered a bad death. Hit in the back of the head," He scanned her body. "The legs multiple times, the face. Probably even the teeth." Wei mumbled, standing up. He looked up at the group. "Let's keep walking." Wei aided.
Ying walked again, and at first it felt like they barely were walking. But soon enough, they got to the edge of the island again on the other side. Soft waves washed onto shore. And there sat a young man, in nothing but what seemed like swim trunks. He sat on his knees in the wet sand, water floating up on the sides. As the water came up once again, the boy cleaned his hands. His hair dripped with water. He seemed to have gone swimming, his entire body dripping with water.
Yet still, he washed his hands furiously. Trying to get something of his hands. He scrubbed and scrubbed and scrubbed. He scrubbed until blood slowly dripped from his hand and into the water, washing away as it pulled back, scared of the boy. He began to sob, pushing his bloodied hands towards the water. His head down, tears dripping down his face.
Ying recognised the boy, but he wished he didn't.
