Chapter 96: The Dusk

Lin Feng seemed quick, but Ying was quicker. Slightly quicker. Ying grabbed Lin Feng's arm before he could run out. "Jingfei!" Lin Feng yelled, trying to pull away from Ying. Ying's grip was the strongest it could be, the vampling's strength enhanced from the crystal around his neck. Jingfei, who sobbed by the water, didn't look up at the sound of his name. Instead, he continued to sob.

"It might be a trick." Ying scold, pulling Lin Feng back forcefully. Lin Feng looked hurt at the sight of the one he loved, crying as water surrounded the area. Ying hugged himself, seemingly scared. However, he gripped his gun through his shirt. Began to walk forward, closer to Jingfei. His sobs became louder as Ying walked. Multiple times as he stepped on the smooth sad did Ying think Jingfei was going to attack him. Not that Jingfei would. Nto willingly.

At a certain point, Jingfei started whispering. Whispering as his hands turned in the murky water, as his salt tears filled the river bank. He whispered something that Ying could just barely interpete as words. "I killed her..I killed her..I killed her..I killed her.." Ying stopped, listening to him. Jingfei killed the girl. A human. That's who he killed. Ying stopped, looking down as the water flooded back out to the river. His hands were still slightly bloodied, however the salt from the water had stilled the movement. Why was he washing his hands so furiously?

"Jingfei.." Ying called softly, his voice barely above a whisper. Jingfei's whispers stopped as the soft call of his name. The boy stood frozen, only the waves moving against him. He slowly raised his head, his wet hair sliding to the sides of his face. He looked up at Ying with death in his eyes. Not Ying, however. But of himself.

Fear and horror were struck at Ying as Jingfei moved back, splashing water as he scooted away from the vampire. As Ying slowly raised his arms, he noticed the gloves from his leather suit. He lowered them. "Jingfei, you know me. I'm your protectrice. Ying." Ying said softly. He slid off his gloves. Bambang was right, metal hooks attached the cloves to the sleeve, which were very meticulous to hold. Ying lifted the black gloves for Jingfei to see, before tossing them into the river.

Jingfei's hands had rope burn, red indents from the tight hold. Someone must have released him. Yuao, most likely. How could Jingfei send them a message with such intention, yet looked horrified at the sight of Ying. Ying's necklace refracted light only the water as he crouched to be the same height as Jingfei, the red shimmer of the Tsavorite crystal, replacing his red one.

Jingfei's , Jingfei's was a orange one.

The citrine wasn't for Yuao, it was for JIngfei. Of course the man was too scared to fight head on. "Do you remember us?" Ying asked softly. Jingfei was quiet for a moment, before he softly spoke. "Yeah.." Jingfei mumbled. A big sigh of relief escaped Ying's lips. "We need to protect you, Jing-"

"Jingfei," Someone stated from beside Ying. Ying slowly looked up, seeing Yuao himself. He wasn't dressed like Ying. He didn't have armor or weapons on him. Instead, he wore casual outfit, a white and black flannel with black jeans. Ying, however, still stood on guard. "I expected better from you.." Yuao started with a sad expression. Ying stood up, anger filling every vein and every spot of his body. His eyes turned a dangerous red as he tensed his fist.

"You hurt him! You made him kill someone! You did all of this! Why?! Just attack me!" Ying yelled profusely, anger and pain in all of his words. Yuao smiled. "I didn't hurt him. He did. I gave him a choice. One was to protect the girl, the other was to kill her. He was the one who chose." Ying didn't believe him. He wouldn't dare believe a single thing the vampire said.

Yuao reached down slightly, placing his hand out for Jingfei to take. "He's not scared of me, he's scared of you." Jingfei placed his hand in Yuao's, the elder helping the vampling stand up. Ying's eyes turned to Jingfei, who's eyes stared at the ground. Yuao looked behind Ying, towards the others. "They have all come to kill me. I'm pleased." Yuao smiled. The elders grip on Jingfei's hand was worrying, but Jingfei didn't dare move. It only worried Ying more.

"However, you must be sad when you understand that your plans will fail." Yuao stated confidently. He leaned towards JIngfei to whisper something in the boy's ear. Ying watched JIngfei's eyes closely, and for a moment, Ying could see the real Jingfei. Scared and miserable. Ying wanted to latch onto that Jingfei and protect him from all evil in the world. But as soon as he saw the boy's eyes fade, he saw a darker, more sinister look in Jingfei's eyes.

Quickly Jingfei pounced, only being held back by Yuao's arm. Ying stepped back slightly, as Jingfei tried to attack Ying. "Yuao.." Ying said hesitantly. Yuao began speaking. "I suggest you run. He's very fast." Yuao stated casually. He heard someone call his name from behind him. Ying didn't look behind him, instead he yeloled back from where he was standing. "I got this!" Ying yelled, as Yuao let go of Jingfei's wrist.

Instantly Jingfei bolted to Ying, only for him to miss by a mere centimeter, Ying having stepped out of the way just in time. Before Jingfei could turn around, Ying wrapped his arm around the vampling's neck and into a head lock. "I know your there, Jingfei. Break out of it.." Ying whispered into the boys ear. Unless Yuao did something, Jingfei should be able to. He didn't want to hurt Jingfei, but he would if he had to.

Jingfei kicked back at Ying's leg, making the tan haired boy fall to his knees. Jingfei quickly turned around, looking dead at Ying. He hesitated his neck moves, just slightly. The same way he hesitated when Wei told him to stop. It gave Ying enough time to dive at Jingfei, sending the vampling to the ground. Heb grabbed both of his wrsists, pulling them over his head. A leg on Jingfei's to keep him from moving. He looked at Ying with only horror in his eyes.

Horror and worry painted JIngfei's red face, struggling to get oxygen in. He didn't try to yank his hand away, or kick up like hje had previously. He stayed there, out of breath with his eye filled with panic. "Help.." Jiongfei whispered softly, his voice brittle. Ying quickly let go of the boy's wrists and stepping off his legs.

Just as he did that Jingfei kicked him in the side with as much force as possible, causing Ying to be launched to the ground. Ying groaned ass he hit his head with the hard sand. Ying's body felt like it had been thrown at a brick wall. His head thumped at the scale of a car crash, and his bones felt chopped into pieces. Jingfei, still out of breath, patted down Ying's body quickly, finding exactly what he needed, a silver bladed knife.

Jingfei leaned down to be face to face with Ying. Cuts and scrapes littered both their bodies from the rough sand with sharp edged textures. Ying gasped for a single breath as he whispered to Jingfei. "Don't be sorry." He said softly, his ribcage broken and shattered in multiple places. Jingfei stared at him. That's when Ying knew. He smiled softly.

He had gotten to the boy.

Jingfei stilled held the silver knife with a strong grip, however he stared down at Ying. Suddenly, Wei yanked Jingfei back and onto the ground. Jingfei groaned as he was pulled back by Wei, however he stopped once he hit the ground. He felt another help him up. "You okay?" Bambang asked worriedly. He didn't touch Ying his his hands, instead using his arms to get Ying up.

He was slightly dizzy, but that wasn't what he cared about. "Jingfei?" Ying asked with a hint of worry in his voice. The boy's eyes were closed as he laid unconscious. Unconscious.. Or dead. "He' ll be fine. Just his head bumped a little do hard on the ground. At least he didn't kill you." Wei sighed, scooping Jingfei up from the ground. Ying looked back, seeing the other three gone. Chan, Lin Feng, and Yang. "Where did they go?" Ying asked, looking back at Bambang.

"Yuao decided to escape while you were preoccupied. So Wei told Yang and Lin Feng to wait at the boat, while Chan went after Yuao. They all have trackers on them." Bambang explained, raising his hand. He had a watch on, with all black. He clicked some things on the watch, before the word TRACKERS showed up. There were three dots, just like Bambang had explained. However, it wasn't divided. Instead there were two dots, seemingly together, walking in a similar direction to the third dot, all alone. Wei looked over and scoffed. "Their following Chan. Dammit." Wei muttered, adjusting Jingfei in his arms. "Bambang, you watch Jingfei. Ying, find the boys, I'll warn Chan." Wei sasid strictly, handing Bambang Jingfei. Bambang nodded, while looked slightly hesitant. "They won't get hurt, will they?" Ying asked.

Wei sighed. "Not if we get to them first."
