Chapter 99: The Dusk

Chan held the gun at Yuao's chest, but he couldn't pull the trigger. Not yet, he thought. Just a few questions, he had to say a few things. Then he could pull the trigger. Chan stared into Yuao's expecting eyes. "Can't do it? Yet you walk onto this beach expecting to kill me." Yuao pointed out. He gripped the barell of the gun, staring back into Chan's eyes. "Shoot me." He repeated.

Chan stayed still.

Yuao sighed and clicked his tongue, stepping away from Chan. He turned around, beginning to walk the shore. "If you can't shoot me, then this fight would be useless. Don't you think?" Yuao sighed, walking away from Chan. Chan watched him for a second before dropping the gun, the metal making no sound as it hit the soft sand. His feet was light as he ran towards Yuao, sliding a knife out his side pocket. As he got close enough, Yuao seemed to notice his footsteps, m aking the elder move to the side just in time. Chan slid as he turned around, sand spreading from under his shoes. "So now you finally know how to fight." Yuao teased with a smile.

Chan gripped the silver knife. "I'm not hesitating to kill a fowel creature like you, Yuao. I'm hesitating to kill my friend." Chan huffed. Yuao looked down at Chan's knife, to then look back up at him. He didn't smile or smirk like before, instead his lips made a thin line. "I am not your friend anymore. Treat me as the fowl creature you say I am."

With that Yuao didn't run towards Chan like the elder had thought, instead he ran from him. Though Chan didn't understand what Yuao was doing at first, he soon did once he realized where he had left the gun. Yuao reached down to grab it. "Nice, I must say. The council seems to put lots of money into their hunters." Yuao complimented.

Chan started at him, letting out a shaky sigh as he ran forwards. Yuao lifted his gun to shoot, but Chan was much faster than him. He gripped the barrel of the gun right when hit shot, moving to the side to not be hurt by the silver bullet. He kicked Yuao's leg, making the elder stumble back a bit. Chan had expected Yuao to let go of the gun. But when he didn't, it sent Chan tumbling to the ground.

He made sure not to hit his head as he fell, letting go of the gun to fall without hurting himself. As Chan got ready to stand up, Yuao pointed the gun straight at his head. He looked down at Chan with disappointment in his eyes. "I'm disappointed. I expected you to fight much better than you truly do." Yuao said. Chan, out of breath, glared at the other. He didn't say a word, only reaching back to cut the back of Yuao's heel, specifically where the achilles tendon was. As Yuao shot he pushed the gun out of the way, turning to the opposite side.

Yuao yelled in pain as Chan stood, wrapping his arm around the other's neck in a chokehold. He pulled Yuao back slightly, twisting the gun in his hand. "Mh, that caught me off gaurd. You know your biology." Yuao compliments. Chan didn't listen to him. "I don't know my biology. But I know you can't walk right. Nor can you run." Yuao laughed, using his good foot to kick Chan off of him. Chan stumbled back for a slight moment, giving enough time to aim and shoot Chan.

In the shoulder.

The piercing shot caused Chan to instantly grip his bleeding shoulder. A sledge hammer's blunt head hitting his shoulder, that's what it felt like. Chan hissed, holding his shoulder as blood began to seep out between his fingers. Yuao smiled. "Even with that amazing crystal on your neck, you still can't win, can you, Chan?" Yuao asked. Chan noticed something about the bullet. It wasn't a sting, no. A sting or burn that he would get from silver. That wasn't it. Chan didn't feel such a thing. Slowly he began to heal around the wound, blood stopping it's movement around the area.

Yuao lined up his next shot, right at Chan's head. Chan patted himself secretly to find another gun. Don't bring a knife to a gun fight, right? There was a gun secured around Chan's ribs. Chan quickly pulled the gun out, looking at Yuao. "Let's do this fairly, shall we? On the count of three-" "Fine." Yuao stated simply. "Let's see who wins." CHan cxocked the gun, pointing it right at Yuao's head.

"1."

Chan instantly went through his head. His lips still tingled from the kiss he had given Yang. His heart warmed when remembering such a kiss existed. Even if that was the last thing he ever did to Yang, he would be happy. At least Yang knows that he loves him too.

"2."

At the sound of two there was a gunshot, but not from either of their guns. Instead, from a third on. Chan watched as Yuao fell to the ground, blood pooling out of his skull. Chan stared in shock at his friend dead. Chan looked over to the forest, seeing three people. One was Yang, another was Lin Feng, and lastly, Snake. He had the gun pointed at Yuao's dead corpse. He began to walk out onto the sun, Yang running up to Chan. He hugged the bleeding vampire. "What did I tell you! Nowe your hurt!" Yang cried, as Chan patted his white hair. "You need medicine and a bandage now." Snake said, sliding his pistol back in it's hollister. Chan lightly shook his head.

"That gun, I think it was fake silver."
