Get a Mission

Being able to step foot again into the office gives positive energy to Arumi's body. The deeper she went, the more determined she was to return to work, let alone to be in the spotlight of her co-workers when meeting her accidentally was very pleasant.

Shocked eyes.

This is what Arumi really wants. Always in the spotlight for something she is proud of, not something she hates.

'I really miss this.'

Arumi assures herself that she will return to work again.

"Mocha, morning."

Arumi stopped looking at herself in the mirror when she heard her name being called. She saw a young woman in a short bob enter the elevator. She smiled knowing who it was. "Red, good morning too."

Red smiled back as well. "Well ... well ... well. The rumors are true~!"

"Rumors?"

"Of course about you're coming back," Red says firmly.

"Oh ...?" Arumi muttered, not expecting gossip to spread so quickly. She hadn't been in the office for fifteen minutes.

Red's small smile turned into a smirk at Arumi's seemingly casual response. "You must like this. Right?"

"You know me," Arumi replied confidently. "But I haven't been back to work yet, Red."

"Not yet," Red emphasizes in a calm voice, "For almost two years, the agency has seemed calm without you."

Arumi is not provoked by Red's bait, instead understands it. She realizes that people here don't like her, envy her. "I think you are happy too. Have you received the title of 'favorite' Boss subordinate from them?"

Till this time, Red has good abilities and sometimes there are even those who compare her abilities with hers.

Arumi is not surprised when Red gets gossip about the Boss's 'favorite', replacing her.

"It's not that easy to get it." Red replies still calmly. "I'm not after that, Mocha."

Arumi didn't answer. She also doesn't pursue the title of boss's 'favorite' agent, the people who spread negative gossip about her do the work.

"Here we go."

Arumi exiting the elevator was immediately greeted by a large man with a blindfold on his left eye. "Good morning, Michael."

Michael ignored Arumi's greeting, instead he says. "Mocha, Boss is waiting for you."

Boss is waiting for her?

Arumi checked her watch. It wasn't too late. "Of course."

Without saying anything Michael walked over.

Arumi followed behind. She did not deny that she was quite nervous to meet her boss in person after so long.

So far, he only communicates by phone. She was also forbidden from going to the office.

Really difficult.

Arumi bitterly accepts it without a protest, she can't fight back because he has played a big role in her life so far.

Knock. Knock. Knock.

Michael knocked on the door before opening it. "Boss, Mocha is here."

"Let her in, Michael."

Arumi's heart was pounding at the sound of her Boss' quiet deep voice. Listening in person is completely different from hearing on the phone. She who was nervous slowly began to be embarrassed too, especially after going inside.

Her boss stood tall in a neat black suit, really looking dignified.

"Arumi."

"Y-yes," Arumi responded quickly, but nervous because she get caught busy admiring him after two years haven't met face to face with him. She took small breaths to calm down, remind herself she wasn't here to see the man she admired, she was here to protest.

"There's something you want to talk about. Right? Tell me. You have ten minutes," says the Boss.

Ten minutes? But recorded evidence is more than that.

Arumi had no choice and went straight to the point, "I know this isn't the first time I'm asking this, but I want to work again as Mocha."

"This again?" The boss says in a slightly bored tone, "Arumi, your task is not finished yet."

"But I can't stand it anymore," protested Arumi strongly, "I get more harassment from my clients. The money they give is not enough to replace their dirty hands on me."

"You always brag about yourself," the Boss asked innocently, "Last time I remember, you liked being the object of people."

Arumi admits that she is happy, she doesn't blame people who are amazed by her, but if she is harassed to even injured like in Antonio's case, she obviously can't stay silent, "You know how I am. I'm sorry, but I won't accept your decision this time, Boss."

"Mocha," Michael who was beside the Boss, let out a cold voice, telling her not to overstep her bounds as a subordinate.

Arumi didn't listen, her eyes remained firm and straight into her Boss brown eyes.

The boss curled up a tiny smile seeing the strong determination in Arumi's eyes, "It's okay, Michael," he says calmly, "If you that confident, give me solid evidence that can make me change my mind, Arumi."

"Of course," Arumi answered quickly, then took out the recording device that was in her bag, "While I was working, I put a bug in so that if something happened, I could defend myself."

"Oh? You filmed the harassment?" The Boss asked while receiving the tool, then handed it to Michael.

"Yeah, I also brought a stun gun just in case too," Arumi explained, "Woman like me definitely need that. I also hide a penknife in my heels in case a client searches my bag."

"I see," the Boss muttered admiringly, "Michael you checked the tape."

"Sure thing, Boss," Michael says then went into the next room.

Arumi was again embarrassed to be alone with her boss. She shifted the focus of her eyes so as not to be caught admiring him.

"Is there anything else you want to tell me, Arumi?" The boss broke the silence by asking and closing the distance between them as well.

Arumi tried to remember if there was anything else, unfortunately her brain was distracted by her boss who was close to her let alone the smell of masculine boss perfume bothering her nose, "That's all."

"Arumi, what's wrong with you? Where is your confidence earlier?" The boss asked calmly.

Arumi just answered with a nervous smile.

Maybe if the Boss didn't approach her, she wouldn't change.

Arumi blamed herself for being so lost in her admiration. She wasn't like this before, she was confused herself too.

Could it be that not seeing each other in person for almost two years had an effect on her admiration as well?

'Looks like it.'

"You only brought a stun gun?" Boss asked.

"Ah, no. I'll bring sleeping pills if the client's information is perverted," said Arumi, "I can't possibly carry a gun. I'm part of a 'cuddle job' not an assassin, Boss."

"Hm ..." The Boss smiled back sweetly. "You're starting to know how to be 'Mocha' again, Arumi."

"Ah ..." Immediately Arumi's hopes rose again to get praise from him. She will not waste this opportunity! "Sure. I might work as Anne, Jennifer or something but the real me is still Mocha, Boss."

"You're so confident, Arumi," says the Boss in a seductive tone.

"One hundred percent," Arumi answered seriously, "So let me go back to work under your control again, Boss."
