cold neighbor

"Arkyn, are you sure you're going to Las Vegas alone?"

Arumi froze where she stood hearing Arkyn's name being called.

"I'll be fine. Stop treating me like a child, Adrian."

Arumi hastily pulled up the hood of her jacket to cover her hair so as not to be recognized because of its highlight color, painted in pink halfway to the ends. Luckily she pulled her hair into a ponytail so it was easy to hide it, could be bad if they recognized her by her hair alone.

"You're still a child to me," Adrian says softly as he ruffled the top of Arkyn's head.

Arkyn removed Adrian's hands from his head, correcting them to their original neatness, "I told you I don't like you ruining my hairstyle."

"See? You're still a child," Adrian joked softly.

Arumi who watched from afar was curious what they were talking about. She could not approach because of the high risk of being caught.

'I can go to the restroom to put on my disguise, but the plane's leaving soon.'

Arumi will take advantage of the opportunity to approach him when they are on the plane, if they in same plane of course. She confident Arkyn was in first-class as well.

***

Arumi was really lucky to be on the same plane with Arkyn and he also left for Las Vegas alone.

The man named Adrian only accompanied Arkyn at the airport.

Very weird.

Were Arkyn's parents so busy that they couldn't take him to the airport?

Arumi believes Arkyn's mother doesn't work for any company. A mother can't miss the most important moment like this.

'Hmm ...'

Observing Arkyn who didn't look sad, his parents might have had only said 'goodbye' in front of their house.

Arumi sighed.

Why does she care about what he feels?

It shouldn't be like this.

'Good. As I thought, he's in first-class.'

Arumi smiled widely behind the mask she was wearing observing Arkyn's activities who were looking for a seat.

This is an opportunity for her.

Arumi just takes a wig and make-up, and ...

"Ma'am, would you like me to help you with the luggage?"

Arumi turned her head to find a stewardess beside her, "No need."

"You sure?" The stewardess confirmed in a friendly tone.

Arumi nodded confidently.

"Excuse me. Can you hurry up, Ma'am? Because other passengers want to pass," says the other stewardess politely.

Arumi was too busy watching Arkyn to notice she was blocking the way. She had to put her suitcase down, then sat down in her chair.

The plan failed.

Arumi sat with high hopes of being alone so that it would be easier to retrieve her belongings considering that the trip to Las Vegas only took two hours.

Short trip.

"Excuse me? Is this seat empty?"

That voice.

Arumi turned her head slowly, and her worry came true as it turned out that the one asking her was Arkyn himself.

What should she do? She had taken off her mask.

Arumi hastily turned her gaze away so Arkyn couldn't see her face. She answered with a nod so her voice wouldn't be recognized either.

This is bad.

"Thank you."

Arumi is still silent. Her head was spinning in confusion as to why Arkyn became her 'partner' all of a sudden like this. She sees him putting the suitcase far behind her!

This was a good chance if only she had put on her disguise. Next to the target.

Everything became a nightmare because she is 'Arumi' now.

'I'll just act like a cold 'neighbor'.'

The journey is only two hour. She had to hold on for two hour.

"Oh ..."

Arumi's attention was distracted by Arkyn's low voice, and at the same time, their eyes met for a few seconds. For the second time, she couldn't move, her heart pounding strangely again like the first time they'd met.

First time ...!

Arumi realized her mistake, hastily turned her face away again while grumbling in her mind Arkyn didn't recognize her.

In these tense moments.

Why is she also curious about what Arkyn doing?

The opportunity to disguise is over.

'No. He didn't say anything. I guess I'm safe ...! Last night he was drunk and thought I was a woman he knew.'

"Sorry to interrupt your precious time. Are you the woman at the Sapphire nightclub ...?"

Arumi's hopes were instantly shattered by soft-question leaving Arkyn's lips.

How?

How could Arkyn recognize her? Wasn't he drunk last night?

Arumi must deny this. She shook her head, not admitting they had met before.

"I believe it's you, Ms. Arumi."

One sentence out of Arkyn's mouth again made Arumi freeze in place.

How did Arkyn know her name? She did not give her name to anyone else!

A short awkward laugh escaped Arkyn's lips.

What things can make Arkyn laugh?

"My bad, maybe I sound like a suspicious guy because I know your name even though we didn't meet last night," Arkyn says, "Adrian looked up your name, not me."

Arum rolled her eyes. Why did she doubt Arkyn's reasoning? It doesn't matter if he admits he's the one who did that, it's common for men to be attracted to her.

No.

Arumi couldn't let Arkyn be attracted to her. Must be Mocha.

Arkyn's way of speaking sounded very formal to a woman.

Arumi again doubts the information from her boss.

'Just shut up. Shut up.'

Arumi had already given a cold neighbor signal, Arkyn should have understood. If he's 'sharp' of course.

"Sorry I seem to bother you. I'm just asking to forget what happened, Ms. Arumi."

Oh my God, this man is still talking?

And again, asking her to forget what happened? She wants to if she can. Luckily she can't. Luckily.

"Your dance is too bad to forget, Sir," Arumi mumbled mockingly, holding back her laughter.

"I see ..."

Arumi gasped.

Did Arkyn hear her mumble?

Arumi secretly turned her head slightly to check how Arkyn was reacting.

Looking at the slight blush that appear around Arkyn's white cheeks it seemed that her guess was right if he heard her mumble.

Arumi looked away again when Arkyn looked back at her. She intended to speak in her mind, but it came out of her lips because his 'sexy' dance was too painful for her eyes.

From the information, Arkyn is 27 years old, two year older than her. But his dancing wasn't any better than when she hit puberty.

Arumi tried her best to hold back laughter. It was great that she found the words 'sarcastic' to describe someone.

"I won't bother you anymore, Ms. Arumi."

In the end, that was what Arumi had hoped for.

'He knows me too far.'

Arumi weighed whether disguise would work considering she was going to be friend with Arkyn for a while.

Arkyn types are sexy and attractive women too.

Arumi can not look too normal.

'I'll think about that later.'

For now, keep some distance so Arkyn isn't attracted to her.
