"People make mistakes it was a mistake we were both working on a project and it didn't go through.....the earlier you get this the better, not to mention how he took care of us like family at least appreciate that" Mary lean on the tall fridge after she paused then resumed again. Jessie busy with the cooking raised her eyebrow in doubt.

"Mom benefited and that private school you attend where do you think the money came from" Mary backed up her defence Jessie looked at her surprisingly.

"No, I don't., You told me it was a social media deal, and I knew you were working even if I don't know what it is, you don't show up sometimes weeks or months so I figure is work & time-consuming so pardon me if I think you're trying to make him look like a shining armour here, you're not the type of person that gives credit they have to earn it" Jessie defended the fact. Mary and her both locked eyes, she once referred to Solomon as his boss.

"Jog your memory to your best collection he was my boss, I'd date him somehow thought he has to take responsibility but you know me, sister I love making money, I wouldn't credit Solomon if he wasn't worth it," Jess thought for a while before trying to speak but mary cut in instead.

"You aren't that a saint yourself, you loaded credit cards for Netflix, Hulu and paid membership for video games and god knows what apps, you are a criminal yourself, what makes you think you have the sanity to pass on judgement " Jessie was surprised how her sister brought up an entirely new topic.

"Let's get this right" She sucked her teeth, partly upset.

"I'm not judging Solomon to feel better about myself and it was a long time along, why are we talking about something that happened eleven years ago, I just got into this big city what do you expect me to do to survive on your money-

"So then you have to steal to survive, let's be honest here if you had taken it seriously like a job we wouldn't be here don't you think?" the kettle on the stove whistled startling Jessie from her thought Mary just throw her dirty laundry to her face and she was processing it.

"I don't want to be like you nor end up like you, this is my senior year all I have in mind is to graduate high school and apply to an affordable university, excuse me" Jessie said turning the gas off as the kettle shuttle quiet. Jessie felt the gaze on her even if she backed mary.

everything she has ever done is to make sure their family isn't a pawn in the hands of Poverty, on the other hand, Jessie wished she could say something but she was too late to even utter another word the scowl on Mary's face.

"I didn't ask anyone to look up to me either, the evidence is I did the actual work, I care about this family more than anything I'm not surprised you shove it to my face like mom, we had nothing. after all, we know you have been singing the same song all your life" Mary stormed out.
