Calming down his excitement, Alexander opened the simulator window.
[Fate Simulator]
[Sequence: Barbarian(8)]
[FatePoints/FP: 5]
[Cost: 150 FP]
[Duration: 1 Month]
[Passive Increase: 10 FP/day]
[Simulate]
He was not shocked to find out that the simulation cost had increased, but was pleasantly surprised that the passive increase had doubled.
With the current rate, he could conduct a simulation every 15 days, even if he traded no extraordinary characteristic for FP.
Of course, that would only mean that he could simulate, but he would still need to wait some time before choosing an option to take out of the simulation.
Closing the window, Alexander picked up a pen and paper from his desk and started writing his future plans.
"Now that I've been promoted to a Barbarian, purchasing characteristics isn't the only way to gain FP."
"As long as I'm well prepared and catch my opponent off guard, I would even be able to fight againt Sequence 7 Beyonders."
"At the same time, I should look further into the achievements."
"For example, since I can gain FP the first time I kill a Sequence 8 Beyonder, it would probably be the same for all the other Sequences."
"In essence, my next action should be to actually enter the extraordinary world.", he sighed.
It had been almost a month since his awakening and Alexander had yet to truly integrate with this world.
Since his awakening, he had lived most of his life on autopilot, with only the goal of conducting simulations in mind.
Hell, his interactions with other people could probably be counted on one hand.
This was not only because he wasn't willing to integrate into a seemingly 'fake' world, but it was also his rationality.
He couldn't be like Klein and put his trust on other people from day one.
Even if the readers of the Lord of the Mysteries argue that Klein's friends were of major help to his journey, how many of them were his true friends?
The gods supporting him obviously expected benefits and his interactions with other people were mostly manipulated by powerful beings.
Could that really be considered true friendship?
Shaking his head, Alexander pushed these thoughts aside and returned to the present.
Instead of thinking like that, it would be more productive to focus on ways to get stronger.
At the same time, a golden card was sitting on his desk.
This was something he had found yesterday on the Folk of Rage's corpse and didn't have enough time to check.
Picking it up and sizing it up, Alexander found that it was actually very similar to the credit cards used in his past life.
At the top of the card, the words "Nemesis Order" were written in black letters.
Under that, the word "RageStorm" written, while at the bottom of the page was a strange symbol that he could not identify.
Alexander had heard of the words "Nemesis Order" before.
During the past weeks, he hadn't only focused on getting characteristics and simulations, but had also tried to improve his extraordinary knowledge and become more familiar with the common sense of this world.
The term Nemesis Order was used in both ordinary and extraordinary settings.
From what Alexander knew, Nemesis Order was an organization that was not mentioned in the original book, composed by two different parts.
For the average citizen, Nemesis Order was just a union composed by mostly ex-military members, with its main focus being mercenary work.
For the Beyonders however, Nemesis Order was what Alexander would describe as a guild.
Everyone could post requests and all members could take up and complete these requests in exchange for both momentary and extraordinary rewards.
The concept of this organization was so similar to the guilds in Alexander's past life novels, that he had started doubting whether there were other transmigrators not mentioned in the book.
Although he referred to it as an organization, the term was used very loosely, as from what he knew everyone could sign up and become a member, with no need for identification and no strings attached.
All this time, Alexander had guessed that it was most likely a vest of the Rose School of Thought or some other evil secret organization.
Finding this card on the Folk of Rage however, changed his mind.
Alexander could be 100% sure that the Folk of Rage was part of the church of the Lord of the Storms.
That means that not only did the orthodox churches know about the Nemesis Order, but they had also somewhat acquiesced to its existence, therefore giving it legitimacy.
Even though he still had fear towards the orthodox churches, Alexander didn't doubt that if the Nemesis Order was a danger towards Beyonders, it wouldn't be allowed to operate in Backlund.
Having being targeted in both the extraordinary gatherings that he had participated, Alexander decided to give this organization a try.
He had always be thinking of joining an organization but most organizations had responsibilities for their members while the Nemesis Order was more like a mercenary organization.
This was not because he was trying to court death but he felt that his Fate Simulator shouldn't be able to support his promotion indefinitely.
There is a finite amount of extraordinary materials for each pathway and he knew it.
Although he had no clue how the simulator worked, he guessed that most likely the potions and extraordinary materials came from somewhere and were not conjured out of nothing.
This may work for now, but what about when he became a Demigod?
Even worse, what if the Fate Simulator one day disappeared?
That's why he found it important to find a foothold in this world or at least a way to obtain formulas and potion ingredients through other channels.
