Return of the Lost Child

Kazuya spent the rest of Sunday enjoying his time with Chizuru. They also discussed quite a few things about the movie and made quite a few plans for the future.

Kazuya had also planned to make some time the next day to meet with grandma Sayuri. He had to get the gist of her story so that he could get to writing the initial draft and find an editor for it.

The next day, Kazuya decided to go to college instead of skipping as usual.

Although he'd gotten a letter of exception from the dean, he decided that he should at least show his face in some of the classes.

Chizuru was happy that he'd come to college since she'd be able to hang out in college with him. Although they had different classes, they still met up quite a few times.

Kazuya decided to leave early since he had to go meet with grandma Sayuri, so he left at around 1 PM.

He then went to the hospital and talked to Chizuru's grandma.

She'd already agreed to let them write her story as the script of the movie, so she told him quite a few major events from her life. Kazuya noted everything down and ensured her that she would love the script.

It took a few hours for Kazuya to listen to her story and then he left at around 5.

On the way back he was ambushed by a soft pair of hands covering his eyes.

"Guess who?!" It was a female voice that was higher pitched than both Chizuru and Mami, so he ruled them out. It couldn't be Sumi since she was too shy to do this.

'Oh yeah, it's that chick whom Kuri brought on the double date.'

"Are you that lost child?" Kazuya couldn't remember her name for the life of him.

"W-What?"

"Yeah. The one that cried in front of my apartment about her heart problems or something."

Kazuya's words made Ruka want to bury herself in a hole.

'What the hell?' She got angry at him.

"What the hell? You're so mean. You're a bully." She started throwing a tantrum right in the middle of the street and started punching his back.

"Yes, yes. I'm a very bad man. What's up?"

"Y-You don't even remember my name do you?" Ruka apparently remembered that he usually talked to people while referring to their names.

'Busted…'

"Not really." Kazuya didn't exactly care about coming off as rude. He hadn't seen her in months. The fact that he remembers her is a big deal in itself.

"Y-You don't have to tell me that… At least you could pretend to remember my name."

"…" Kazuya didn't know what she wanted from him and kept quiet. He was sort of having fun with this troublesome girl, he was free for the next couple of hours before he had to go home.

When she finally calmed down she said, "It's Ruka."

"Okay, Ruka."

"You're going to forget it again aren't you?"

Kazuya looked to the side.

"I give up… Do you want to get some coffee?" She asked him.

"What brought that on?"

"I want to hang out with you."

Kazuya narrowed his eyes and said, "I have a girlfriend."

"I know. I just want to hang out with you."

'Somehow, I doubt that… Then again, I'm fucking Mami on the side while being very much in love with Chizuru. And it's not like Ruka doesn't look good, she's a damn bombshell.'

"Sure, I guess. Wait… Aren't you still in school?"

"I passed out this year."

"Really?" He gave her a sharp look.

"Really! I did." She nodded vigorously.

"Fine. Let's go." Kazuya started walking to the cafe he usually goes to when he has to go to the office from his apartment.

"Yes!" She pumped her fist in the air as if she accomplished a mission.

"Hm?" Kazuya looked at her and gestured for her to follow him when he realized that she wasn't walking.

Kazuya brought Ruka to the cafe and talked for a while drinking their coffee.

"So, what do you want?" Kazuya decided to get to the point after some small talk.

"Whatever could you mean?" Ruka had an innocent expression on her face.

"Don't mess with me. You want something. You've been following me for quite a while. If you thought I wouldn't notice, you're wrong."

"I don't know what you're talking about." Ruka didn't admit that she'd been stalking Kazuya and Chizuru for a couple of weeks.

"Whatever, I don't care as long as you don't hurt me or my girlfriend." Kazuya could tell that she didn't have any negative motive for her actions so he didn't take any serious action.

"C-Can we go out together?" Ruka suddenly dropped the bomb on him.

"I knew it!" Kazuya wasn't surprised.

"W-What?" She was dumbfounded.

"I knew that you wouldn't be able to resist my natural charisma. But, I'm sorry. I can't accept your offer. I'm already in a relationship and I'm very happy with my girlfriend."

"It's fine. I don't mind you being in a relationship. I can share." She got slightly agitated when thinking about the notion of his refusal.

"W-What?" Not it was Kazuya's turn to be dumbfounded.

"Yeah. I can share, I'm very desperate."

Kazuya had to take a moment to contemplate the situation.

"Did one of your rental customers make an inappropriate move on you?" Kazuya realized that her desperation was kinda unnatural.

"What?! No!" She stiffened at his question and answered hurriedly.

"…Hah…" Kazuya sighed since he understood that she was lying.

"You don't need to lie to me, you know? I won't judge if you had a bad experience with one of them."

"No. Really! He wasn't even able to touch me."

"So, there was a situation with one of the customers." Kazuya realized the meaning behind her words.

She hesitated for a while, "…Fine. Yeah. One of the customers tried to make an inappropriate move on me, so I ran away after macing him."

"Well… I'm not surprised. That's why I'm not a fan of this rental girlfriend thing. It's so easy for someone to get the wrong idea. Especially the nice-guy type of person. A lot of them don't even realize that it's an act and keep pestering the girls."

"Right! It's so annoying."

"So. Back to the important topic. Why are you talking to me after all this?" Kazuya still couldn't understand her reason for approaching him with this.

"About that… I've decided that I'm quitting the rental thing since I'm not running into anyone who can get my heart rate high enough. The closest someone came was you, hence I'm here."

"That's it?"

"That's it."

*Ring* Kazuya's phone rang.

"Oh? It's my girlfriend. Hold on, Ruka." Kazuya smiled when he saw who it was.

"Kazuya…" Her voice seemed slightly hushed.

"Hi, babe. How's everything going?"

"Can you come to pick me up?"

"Everything okay?"

"Y-Yeah. Just come pick me up." And she hung up the phone.

'Something's wrong…'

"Ruka, I have to go. It was nice talking to you but there's a situation and I need to leave." Kazuya got up, leaving half of his coffee.

"W-Wait."

"I can't Ruka, I'm sorry." Kazuya was about to walk out.

"At least, give me give me your number." She followed him out.

Kazuya didn't stop but recited his number for her while walking.

"I'll come with you." Ruka tried something.

"Yeah, right. Create a misunderstanding with my girlfriend so that she starts resenting me." Kazuya sarcastically answered her.

"You don't have to be so mean."

"I'm a little hurried right now, Ruka. I don't plan to pay attention to my attitude right now." Kazuya was walking very fast and Ruka wasn't able to catch up to him at this point.

"See you later!" Ruka didn't seem like she would give up any time soon.

Kazuya waved the back of his hand while walking to his penthouse which was 2 minutes away. He was going to get his car.

'Just the time I decided to not take the car, this happens.'

Kazuya hurried to his penthouse and got into the car.

'I'm glad I set up the family system on both of our phones…' Kazuya was able to access her live location at any time and she could do the same.

Neither of them abused this to spy on the other, but it was a measure that Kazuya came up with for days like this.

Kazuya quickly drove to her location and slowed down, looking for her.
