~~~Jungkook Pov~~~
After one week-
I pick up the landline and say. "Hello?''
A slight grin forms on my face as I remark. "Indeed, how may I assist you?"
"I wanted to buy a refrigerator I spotted on your site!" She shouted.
"Really? That's fantastic news! Well, well can you send me your payment details please." I said, picking up a pen.
My phone rang just as the speaker finished saying.
"Yes, it is."
I said, "Excuse me, please," as I set down the landline phone.
As I began, "Who are you? I am in the midst of something incredibly important and you idoi—-," Someone on the other end interrupted me.
An angry female voice said:
"Jeon Jungkook, I need your help."
I was puzzled and said.
"Who is this?"
She responded. "Hong Cho! Idiot!"
I let out a scream.
"Honggg!"
''When our fight finally came to an end, I was sure it was for good.''
She finally snapped.
"Shut up and pick me up; I'm late for work."
In any case, she's, my cousin. Stop. Simple kinship.
I explode with fury and yell. "HAAAA! How dare you talk to me like that?!"
She scolds me with "Keep your voice down." before hanging up.
I let out an irritated "YAAA!"
Oh. Oops, I missed my customer!
I shout, "Hello? Miss? Hello?" in utter panic.
No one speaks up.
Aish! To go or not to go, that is the question! In a fit of rage, I yank at my hair.
"...''
I am going
...
What happened to her apartments?! Did aliens decide to take her in mid-air or something?! Then, suddenly, I recognize the building behind me. That's it! I sped back. At last. As I approach the apartments, I see a woman standing with crossed hands and a dress and heels on. Is it her? Of course, it is who else could pass for a demon except her?
"Hey." While rolling down my window, I exclaimed, "Hey, I found your place!"
''I waited for a very long time. I waited patiently at first, and then I was afraid I was going to lose my job.'' She murmured this as she ran her hands through her chestnut hair, which is parted down the middle.
She wears intense makeup and has dark, staring eyes.
She gets out of the car and walks around to the passenger side, but the door is locked.
"I'm sorry and I'll unlock the door for you.''
She sits alongside me and adds,
"You should have done that earlier."
So, let's go, then!
I responded as I sped off in my car.
"So," I asked.
"Why did you call me?"
As we both faced the road, I posed the question to her.
To paraphrase, "Well...I couldn't find a cab. She says, "So... yeah." While shifting restlessly in her chair.
"You just caused me to lose a very valuable client!''
"Oh. Please hold on a second... customer? What, you were trying to trick more people than I thought?!" She questioned in shock.
"Um...I work, right?'
There's a counterargument: "No, it's not work." She says.
''I need to eat! To survive, this is the way!'' I answer.
''It's no." She said.
'' I predict that law enforcement will eventually catch up with you, at which point you can look forward to your time spent behind bars.''
I always respond with, "I never get caught."
''You may be in the future.''
I respond. "Well if you snitch on me, it's possible."
"Snitch? Pardon me. I don't see why you don't just find a legitimate job and start pulling your weight.'' That's what she enquired about.
'' I don't have a degree," I say.
The answer she gives me is " Doesn't matter." And she gives me a severe look in return.
My sincere response is, "Well...I don't want to."
"Look! The reality has been revealed.'' At me, she says.
An enthusiastic "Yeah yeah, one day," is my sarcastic response.
''...I feel uneasy about being in the car of a person who fools people into buying his goods,'' She says.
"I'm not a bad guy!"
''You are no saint, either! Moreover, committing fraud is definitely illegal.''
''Why do we keep bringing up my work history?''
I push annoyingly.
Because, as she puts it, "It's wrong."
"Ah." I sigh.
''I am here.'' No. I had to rephrase myself: "I mean we are here.''
"Remember one day, you will get caught one day," she says to me one more time.
"Okay! If it happens, you can bet I'll be calling for help. As she gets out of the car, I inquire.
''Definitely not!''
She flat-out said no, and my response was one of hysterical laughter.
Before I can see her stepping into the building, I respond.
"Good okay bye." and got into my car and sped off.
...
I have spent the entire day on my phone and other forms of social media, and now I feel unmotivated and unable to accomplish anything out on the couch in front of the television while mindlessly shoving food into my mouth.
Ring, ring.
"What now?"
As I answer the phone, I enquire.
''It's me, Kookie. Want to join me at an incredible party today?'' My stepbrother inquired.
He's...fine, I guess.
"Um...okay. After saying, "I don't have anything to do," I hung up the phone and went to get dressed.
...
"Kookie!
My step brother hugged me and shouted,
"I'm so happy for you!"
"Hey." I sigh.
There are a lot of people and lights in here, and things seem to be going out of control.
''You've earned a beer or two today!"
He responds as he yanks me inside the pub where we frequently hang out with our buddies.
High fiving my friends, I go to the bar to have a drink.
"Jungkook, who were you chatting with the last time at the party?" A friend of mine asked me this while taking a sip from his beverage.
"Just a... I respond, "customer," as I take a sip of my drink.
"Really! Do you really think we'll buy that?'' He questioned.
Although I have a high tolerance for alcohol, I still can't handle it effectively if I have too much to drink.
''Excuse me, while I go to use the toilet. Goodbye, pals!'' While trying to get through the crowd to the restroom, I wave as I pass by walk into the restroom and start to do my business as the lights begin to flicker.
This life...I am a mess. But... someone is happy. Someone is kind. To me. Has a decent job and wants me to end this sh*t already. But this life simply is too hard to leave. I stop thinking, wash my hands, and exit.
"Jeon! Join me in a dance, will ya? A girl suddenly appears and grabs my arm.
"No. I quickly turned away from her, saying. "No thanks." as I yank my arm away and start walking towards my stepbrother.
I sit down as my companion's dispute over something and take a sip, then another, and another. I don't want to live like this. I want to smile. Another sip. I want to be hugged. Another one. I want to live.
"I'm leaving." I reply.
Astonished, he asked.
"What, why?"
My stepbrother inquired.
"I have a stomachache."
He says.
"You're too drunk to drive, so let me take you home."
"No. I am o kay, OK.''
When he started to say "But" I interrupted him.
I'm the one who declared "I can do it on my own!"
I yell back.
OK, he replies.
He gives me a final hug and tells me to give him a call when I get home, and I leave the club with a sad smile on my face since I know I don't deserve him.
I'll do my best to go to my car, but it's a long way away, and as I make my way there, I notice a man standing in my path, leaning over me and frowning.
"You! How can you sell me such garbage? Return my money, you moron!'' The man yells at me, and I try to run, but the alcohol isn't helping me. I trip over my own feet, and he chases after me and captures me.
He starts striking me in the stomach, then in the face, and soon I'm bleeding. Just as I'm ready to lose my version, I look around and notice that the person who was beating me is on the floor. I try to see what's happening, and then I see that a lady is punching him.
''You are a worthless piece of crap!''
The woman's voice yells as she throws a 360-degree roundhouse kick that knocks him out cold. She then turns around so that I can see her face.
"Rae Jin!!! " I exclaim in disbelief.
The question: "Are you going to switch jobs now?"
She questioned while she breathed intensely from the combat as I lay there in disbelief on the floor.
