Chapter 32 Bonus Chapter

After taking a shower and wearing her night robe, Lei sat down on the bed waiting for Ashton. She was ready to ask him the question that has been bothering her.

Ashton came out of the bathroom looking like a god as always, but now was not the time to get distracted by his beauty.

"Ashton I... we need to talk." Lei said slowly.

"About what?" He said as he got into the bed and she faced him but didn't say anything for a while.

"Areyouhappywiththismarriage?" She asked quickly almost impossible to hear before looking down. She didn't have the courage to look him in the eye and ask such a question.

"Lei, look at me." But she shook her head in refusal.

She wouldn't. She couldn't.

"Why did you ask?"

"Nothing."

"Is this about me not being around to stay with you?"

Wasn't she the one that was supposed to be asking the questions here? How did the tables turn?

This time she didn't give an answer to his question. What was she to say?

Was she going to tell him yes or no? Quite frankly even she was confused. Wasn't this what she wanted?

Before they got married she told herself that she would do everything for him to hate and avoid her. She told herself that... that she would not fall in love with him but here she was doing the exact opposite.

She felt like crying but what use would that be? She never even wished for this life.

Her whole plan was to graduate highschool as soon as possible and only then would she be free from the clutches of those bullies.

She never wanted to almost die and then become a princess overnight. All this was too much for her and she doesn't even know how to handle it.

Maybe things would even been better if she had just died that moment she fell off that cliff at the back of that school.

Things might have been better if it turned out that way.

"If it'll make you feel any better, I will make sure to cut my schedule short and try to spend more time with you." He lied down on the bed and made her rest her head on his chest.

Although it was not the answer she wanted, it made her feel better.

She closed her eyes and fell asleep listening to his steady heartbeat.
