Wolf 359 is 7.86 light years from earth

Day 1

Today we saw the planet! We have been asleep for a while in cryo-sleep, and I needed to go to the bathroom badly after we were woken up by the ai. So, I am excited and all, the star's name is Wolf 359 and just to clear some confusion. As we approach one of the planets. Gah my memory is so blurry I cannot remember what the name is I can later… hopefully. It has been a few hours and the power are not working. We need to fix the solar panels but the fact that this star is dim so it may not be the solar panels. I hope at least that it is not them.

Day 2

I woke up from my cabin after hearing the alarm. This means we're close. The crew and I went to the cockpit and to our stations to ensure a good landing. Which mostly happened although it was a little rough on entry but for the most part the landing was fine. Apparently, this planet has 3 moons! Potentially more although from what we have seen it is 3 maybe more. It is so cool during the day we can see so many stars! As soon as we landed, we started the procedure of building the habitat, which let me tell you is it is a huge pain to build especially with such low gravity you jump to grab something and next thing you know you are flying! The place we landed was not too great, rocks were everywhere, and it was shady and dark, even in my suit I was shivering. We are super close to the star, and I am cold? How can this happen? Well anyways After we started building and working, I had a strange feeling I could not shake off it was like I was being watched. But how is this planet said to be uninhabitable? I must be paranoid, there is no way there is another life.

Day 3

Today I talked with my roommate in the bunk area, and he said he felt watched too! Something is going on and it is not good. Well anyways we finally finished the mess hall and that was the hardest to do. Today was the first day we all were able to eat inside the habitat. Tomorrow the commander told us that we are building rooms for us to sleep in! Oh, I cannot wait! The feeling of being watched was not getting better or not feeling it the only place I don't feel watched is in the ship. I think every astronaut feels this on a new uncolonized planet, but I don't know. The records for the crew that colonized Mars are not around anymore and those were top secret. So, no info for me.

Day 4

It feels weird writing what day it is like day one blah blah blah. But this planet orbits this star faster than any in the old solar system so the earth one cannot help. Today we finally made the individual bunks so now we do not have to share our rooms! Finally, I cannot stress this enough but my roommate smells like rotting fish and when it is hot in the ship it smells TERRIBLE like rotting roadkill! I will put 8 air fresheners in his room when we are done building, and that will be done in a few days, says Commander, but I do not know if it will be done by then. Hopefully early. So, my job for the colony is to be a cook and an explorer! Good thing I was chosen to be a cook. Else Mr. Fish smells and I don't want my food to smell. Today The feeling of being watched was very overwhelming. It must have been the movement of the planet.

Day 5

This planet has weather! This is a big discovery, and the best part is that the weather was rainy. I love rain so much. Also, the rain was safe and non-acidic. I wonder how long it will last. We also have fixed the electricity problem. That is a relief. It is very windy, so power is fine and dandy. For dinner I made chicken noodle soup. It was good for the first meal on a deserted planet.

Day 6

It is still raining today which is good. We now have the greenhouse up and Mr. Fish Guy is the farmer, so he does the farming and I cook. When I get the food that he has I am going to clean it cleaner than a baby's bum. Anyways we also have the heaters running, which is good so that we do not need to wear 5 million clothes.

Day 7

Wow we have been here a week wow. Today we finished the habitat! I also think this rain is not going to stop. But what I am scared of is the fact that the downpour is getting harder and harder, to the point that you cannot see well. Last night I heard a weird noise like something falling or a crash. I think it was only a rock, but it did not sound like one. I told Mr. Fish to take a shower and he did, but he still smelt bad. Ewe, we also managed to get the animals out of cryostasis. So, we can start getting food. Also, we now have a good puppy to pet. The scary thing was that the momma dog was in full attack mode and all the cattle were on edge fighting us to not go to the habitat. Outside despite the mud I saw footprints! That made me terrified. At dinner I will tell the crew about that.

* * *

Alright so I told the crew after dinner, and I had looks from them as if I'm crazy! I know what I saw. Whatever the commander said, she would keep watch and see what I was talking about before dark.

Day 8

So, some scary thing happened last night. First it was really foggy then it was bright and keep in mind that this was the middle of the night. Commander this morning looked shaken and terrified. I asked her what's up and she looked at me and said "you were right." Now this should be something of concern, but I was right! Take that! Today was more of the same but I could hardly see the shuttle outside and that is not good. I wonder if the weather will become better? I don't know, hopefully it will clear up soon. I also went out and the Commander guided me with the GPS on my way back. I found a river and a canyon and nothing else. Basically, have you ever skied in whiteout conditions? That is what it was like but driving instead of skiing. I came back and something was off as the habitat was not where the commander guided me. I was a mile away from where I should have been. I came back, and the commander tried to guide me, and she said I could not hear her as if there was interference. That is weird, there was no interference before.

Day 9

Yesterday was chaotic. I am admitting it. IT WAS HELL! What happened was that the commander fell ill after I came back, which was worrying. Then everyone looked at me and was like, "what did you do?!?" I said I did nothing, and I was sent to my room for the day. Fish made dinner and guess what he made Fish! Like he smells like it, but he makes it? What the hell. This morning I was finally released as the commander told them that she did not sleep well and did not feel good by the time I was back. Yay thanks commander. Besides that, chaos today was a lazy day. I just had to make dinner and check the storm.

Day 10

Today something happened and nothing good happened. As we expected the storm worsened. Now if you go outside if your suit stays together, you cannot see your hand in front of you. This is bad for many reasons.

If you are exploring out there the GPS does not work at all.

Based on what has happened recently, whatever it is out there that can get us

We cannot see

Your suit will get destroyed. Causing you to be killed by the dangerous high pressure gas.

These are the few very dangerous reasons why you can be killed outside. And for my job that is TERRIBLE. Yes, I am a cook but also, I am an explorer so half of my job is useless. That suck's but the commander needed a break, so I am subbing for her a few more days and we get less work yay.

* * *

So, it has been a few hours and I AM FREAKING OUT. I saw a hand slide across the glass of the navigation room. And keep in mind it is like a white-Ish red hue outside. No one is supposed to be outside for a prank even. And they know I am a very paranoid person, and I am already on edge like since we landed here it felt wrong to be here. So, for A HAND to go across the window with this much wind and pain to go outside THAT IS A BAD THING. Yes, it is good to find another life but bad if they are trying to hunt and kill us. I feel like I am in danger.

Day 11

Yesterday I was not in a good mood and probably tired, at least that is what Fish says hopefully he is right. I cannot shake that image though. Every time I close my eyes, I see it. Every minute I think of it. I am just trying to make sense of that. I just need to calm down. I was paranoid. Right? Right?

* * *

Later I told the Commander and she looked at me with a look of what looked to be sorrow when I told her what happened. What could this mean?

Day 12

After writing my entry for yesterday I heard what sounded like falling. And not of a person but of a boulder or piece of equipment. Like this huge heavy thing fell. Then when that falling happened there was hail and not the mini ones on earth but soccer ball sized hail. This planet is crazy. When the hail started everyone was scared that the domes were going to break. But the commander assured us it would not break the glass as the glass is reinforced well and only one massive thing can cause damage. That is scary. Although this hail does have one upside and that upside is the visibility is a bit farther. Not much but not too little.

Day 13

I went out to explore! Finally, I needed to get out of there. Else I would've gone mad! I also made dinner. I think everyone was happy to not have weird gross sushi. I found nothing interesting minus a cave that looked cool.

We also managed to get the tv thing working all we have is… EVERYTHING! It is cool but any new releases that happen soon will take a few years to get here sadly but at least we have everything else! The hail is now a mix of rain and soccer ball sized hail.

Day 14

This trip to this planet is crazy. At least we all were able to take a break and watch the tv thing. Some of the movies were crazy like how people did this challenge during the terrible 2020 pandemic. That was cool to look at and watch instead of weather graphs and charts. Although some of the movies that were picked were corny as hell! Although Paul Blart Mall Cop is still as good and funny!

Day 15

Today nothing much happened. The eerie feeling felt worse. I should be concerned but the hand thing is worse, so I don't know anymore. But at least I have this to talk about. More like writing. I made spaghetti for dinner. My famous recipe no one knows.

Day 16

Today while doing weather maps (I was subbing for the commander as she was sick again.) I noticed something interesting. The storm is surrounding us. Like all the storms on this planet are congregating over here. I also noticed that the satellite. We had one in the ship and put it here. It showed that the storm is going to get worse. Like I thought this was bad, but I guess I was wrong. If there were rovers that managed to get and land them this mission would not have happened.

Day 17

Nothing interesting happened today.

Day 18

We watched horror movies, and I was so scared I swear that feeling was lighter but after the movies that feeling of being watched came down like a rock on me. I also noticed small rocks were coming down on the roof. I went to look at the weather map and there was a "Meteor shower" but it was more like rocks falling. Nothing burned up so it was not a meteor shower, just a barrage of rocks. Tomorrow I must clean that up since I am the explorer.

Day 19

Man, today was scary. We found that this planet has another moon! The scariest part of that is the moon is moving slowly and seems to be getting closer, but it may not be that it is getting closer hopefully… and that the moon is just large

Day 20

No survivors of that incident, only me and Fish's dog. NO SURVIVORS. Why did we colonize here why. Whose idea was it! This planet is a freaking death trap! A place to seem appealing. BUT IT IS NOT. Stay away from this planet. STAY AWAY.

Day 21

Sorry about my last entry. I was very emotional that day… What happened was that moon we saw. Well, that was no moon that was an asteroid. Unless that was some sort of debris, but I have no idea. All I know is that when I went to bed, Fish's dog came along. After that I was asleep for a few hours. There was a HUGE crash and a boom. Then the alarms… In training before we started to go to this god forsaken planet the alarms were meant to signify that something on the habitat had broken or there was a leak, and the gasses of the planet were leaking in. Well, it was both…

Day 22

Since day 20 I have been confined to my room. Today I have decided to head outside.

* * *

After the earthquake everything was messed up. I found my suit. After I put my suit on and went outside, I was TERRIFIED and baffled. First thing right off the bat was I saw the common area was in pieces and mostly gone. Well at least I found out what could destroy the glass in a messed up way. I recovered a connection to the solar panels to my room. But when the hand slid across the window. Well, that seems like it was watching me the whole time. I also recovered beans and a few other foods. All in all, a very productive day if I might say so.

Day 23

I took out the dog. And we played! It was fun having the dog play. Although I lost the ball and that was sad. As I write this, I now realize how on edge the dog is at night. On the first night of the incident, I understood that but not now. Maybe I am being paranoid like usual. But I don't know.

Day 24

I decided to stay in as the weather is impossible to predict and I do not want a ball of ice to hit me and break my suit. I did fix my tv thing today and at least one productive thing happened.

Day 25

After the hail storm happened yesterday it ended although the rain has not. I went to see if any part of the ship existed. And hardly anything was there, maybe that was related to that crash noise. I also found extra food and water. At least I can feed myself and the dog for longer. I also decided to see if the greenhouse was intact. And let me tell you, it still smelled like fish! Like it has been 5 days, could the smell be cleared? Maybe not. Tomorrow I will try to set up a tunnel or a hallway to get easy access to the greenhouse. Then I can get more food!

Day 26

Alright, so about what I said yesterday. About setting up that hallway thing? Well, I decided not to as the dog was angry and growling. So, I was like "nooo." I also should get a name for this dog. You know what the name is Oreo. I chose that name because the dog looks like an Oreo. If only I had some Oreos. Funny thing once I was babysitting for a friend and they made me mad. So, for payback I decided to eat all her Oreos. The bad thing about that was… well she had like 5 packs of Oreos, and I ate them all. That night I ate about 225 Oreos. I had no regrets minus the fact I had become sick.

Day 27

I am so happy! The satellite we use for weather can send transmissions! I sent a message out to command. The estimated time for them to receive it is a few days. They must have a shuttle near here. I also figured out what one year on this planet is! It is one human month. That is fun but the storm is getting worse by the day.

Day 28

I just found out one good thing about the rain! The rain made all the toxic air go and allowed oxygen to exist! This means I can go outside and breathe but I still need my suit for warmth. I just realized how hard it is to make a hallway by yourself. At least the hallway is not too long but also not that short either. So, this takes time, but I have about one third done.

Day 29

Almost a "year" on this dreaded planet. I finished the tunnel thing. Somehow, I was able to do more than I did yesterday wow. I also remembered why I need to write in this journal so often. The reason is because in training we were told "if something happens on this planet then we need to know what happened" That makes more sense of why it feels like a necessity to write in this!

Day 30

Today I noticed something. At first, I woke up, it seemed like usual. But something was off. I looked outside and noticed I could see fairly far out! This was such a relief and exciting! Since day 5 you could not see that far. So, when I looked outside, I could see a bit of the crater from the impact. I was so happy! I was almost going to cry! Besides the good news I tended to the farm and made parts of the tunnel to whatever part if the base still existed. With the newfound visibility it was easier to build. I Quess a "year" here made the weather calm down.

Day 31

I found a photo of me and my family. It made me sad thinking of what happened to them while I was gone. It was a sad day. Although I did get a transmission back from command. They said that it will take about 10 or so days until they can get a shuttle here to pick up Oreo and me. I cannot wait to get out of here! Although I have that gut feeling that something bad is going to happen, I need to be on high alert.

Day 32

I looked on the tv that has a human calculator, and I realized my birthday is coming up. I am excited! I also have some serious talk. Oreo is such a cute and funny dog! Anyways, that was my serious talk. I grabbed the biggest knife from the kitchen just in case! I mean I am a very paranoid person. There is no such thing as too safe! Especially here...

Day 33

Now I know that we are not alone on this planet… This is good and bad news. The good news is the fact that there is another life. The bad news is the fact that it appears to be hunting me. Although it may be peaceful though. Hopefully.

Day 34

After writing in my journal about my sighting, I realized that thing out there was probably what was making the animals on edge. If that is what made them on edge, then there is something severely wrong with this planet. Also, since fish is gone, I now have to do all the farming I was able to make crops grow.

Day 35

I have been pondering on the time I saw a hand slide along the window a while ago. And I feel as if it was human. The hand appeared to resemble one. As if someone was sent here without anyone knowing. It is possible that it is a human-like species. But those chances are 1 in like 9 septillion or more.

Day 36

I just realized that this star Wolf 359 is only slightly bigger than Jupiter. How did I not realize this? I also was wondering how long we were frozen for. As this star is 7 light years away from earth and we were not traveling at the speed of light
