Aera's Archers had assembled in the Desert with Concordia.

"Today, we shall continue our lesson on Elemental Fields" Concordia said.

The Archers listened closely.

"As I explained earlier, every element with the capacity to generate energy can also produce a Wave and every element with the capacity to generate a Wave can also produce what is referred to as a Field. All Living Organisms live within environments surrounded by specific fields. With regards to the relationship between Fields and Living Organisms, there are generally two classifications of Field. The first is known as a Beneficial Field and the second is known as a Detrimental Field" Concordia explained.

"Beneficial and Detrimental Fields?" Mimi wondered.

"A Beneficial Field as the name suggests is a Field generated by an element and its Wave in a manner that aids a Living Organism and promotes its Healthy State. A Living Organism living in an environment where a Beneficial Field is present usually has an associated Sense or Organ that can perceive this Field. An instance are the Lungs of Mammals allowing them to sense and utilize Aerial Fields or the Skins of Living Organisms allowing them to sense and utilize Heat Fields. The Chlorophyll of Plants allowing them to sense and utilize Photonic Fields. The Ampulae Of Lorenzini belonging to Sharks allowing them to sense and utilize Electric Fields. The Gills Of Fish allowing them to sense and utilize the Air present in Aquatic Fields. Every Living Organism that can relate in some way with a Beneficial Field does this via a Sense that can perceive and utilize this Field. This Sense allows them to perceive changes to the Field and allows them to escape the Field if it becomes a Detrimental Field" Concordia said.

"Let me guess, a Detrimental Field is one that is harmful to a specific Living Organism am I right?" Mimi asked.

"Yes, you are. A Beneficial Field can transform into a Detrimental Field when it is not in Harmony with the Elements within a Living Organism" Concordia explained.

"A Beneficial Field can transform into a Detrimental Field?!" Mimi exclaimed in horror.

"This is true. As I explained earlier, every Living Organism has an Ideal State Of Being. One part of this Healthy State is dependent on their Cellular Makeup and the elements circulating within their bodies. The Elemental Fields that exist outside the bodies of Living Organisms can interact with the Elements within the Living Organism but are primarily independent of the Elements within the Living Organism in the sense that they can constantly alter their States without input from the Elements within a Living Organism. When the Elements outside and within the Bodies Of Living Organisms are in Harmony, the External Elemental Field acts as a Beneficial Field however when the Elemental Field assumes a figure beyond and by that I mean either above or below what the body of the Living Organism can handle, it transforms into a Detrimental Field that can sap the life of the Living Organism. That is the first way a Detrimental Field can materialize. An example is extreme temperature, extremely bright light to the point of blinding an Organism, a Toxic Scent caused by a Harmful Gas. You get the idea" Concordia said.

The Archers nodded.

"From what you're saying, it appears there is a second means by which a Detrimental Field can materialize" Mimi questioned.

"You are very perceptive Mimi. That is right. The second means by which a Detrimental Field can materialize is when a Living Organism lacks the Sense or Organ to process a particular type of Field or to make use of it in some way. An example of this is a Fish that can't survive in Aerial Fields or a Human that can't survive in an Aquatic Field without the aid of breathing equipment or a Human that can't survive in a Vacuum Field. When an organism lacks the appropriate organ or sense to process a particular Elemental Field or to utilize it, more often than naught, the Field transforms into a Detrimental Field" Concordia explained.

"You'll notice that this analogy also applies to how the Elemental Affinities of every Human work. A Human with an affinity for a particular Element will usually find that Element working to their advantage. On the other hand, when a Human has a poor affinity for a specific element and finds themselves confronted with that element, they more often than naught are inflicted with a Debilitating Status Effect" Concordia explained.
