Chapter 32: Chase that Feeling

“What do you mean you broke up?!” Hannah’s voice cracks. “This needs to be a video call. What did he say to you?!”

I decline the video call. One, I look like a mess, and two, I’m busy putting Donovan’s Alpha Medallion in an air-tight jar so pheromones don’t keep making me sneeze.

“He didn’t do anything wrong. He was totally fine. I just freaked out when we were about to have sex, and then we had a conversation…and basically realized we want different things,” I explain, trying to keep the emotion out of my voice, and failing spectacularly.

I’m pleased when my nose stops itching after the medallion has been in the jar for a minute. I’ll have to return it to Donovan tomorrow. It’s too important for me to keep.

“...You’d tell me if he was doing something shady, right? Like if he was pressuring you.” Hannah’s voice dips, and I hear things rattle in the background like she’s searching for a knife, rope, and duct tape.
