Chapter 42: Setting the Trap

On the second floor of the lavish club, I can see why this is the VIP area. I feel like luxury sitting up here on plush leather sofas, and the event has even started yet.

“So, after the announcement, we will put the Alpha medallion in this jewelry display case, and I will train the cameras on it,” Rivkah says, pointing to the display case.

Donovan is dressed in a coordinating angel custom to Rivkah’s, and the complete opposite of Cameron’s. He’s been lurking in the corner and hasn’t said a word. A part of me wants to ask him how he is doing, but I also know that we both need some time and space because our breakup is still very fresh.

And I have my own issues to focus on, like setting this trap.

My heart picks up speed. This is suddenly beginning to feel very real.

Then I think of Hannah.

“Hey, Rivkah, what if these thieves end up being dangerous? What about all the people coming here for the masquerade?” I ask, suddenly envisioning a club filled with people panicking.
