A Quest that would Last for 3 Years

"I'm sorry for my incompetence, but can Master explain further? Is the one I'm taking care of the one that Master has taken down here 900 years ago?" Mio asked as she was not completely sure yet, though she knew that her Master was already married and already had a child, she was not sure if the daughter she was talking about was Aika, whom she already met a long time ago.

As for the reason why she asked this, she knows that the time here and in the Immortal Realm is different, she had a theory about that. But she doesn't know if the time here is faster or slower since she really doesn't have any clue, her Master remained the same, if she could tell her power, maybe she would be able to tell or even have some idea about it. But she couldn't because she doesn't have the authority to do so, every time she tries to check her, she gets a warning every time.

"Of course no… well let me tell you this since it looks like I have forgotten to tell you about it. The Time in Mortal Realm compared to the Immortal Realm is much slower and in comparison, 1 year here is equivalent to 1,000 years in the Immortal Realm, so in reality… Aika the one you met all those years ago is already about 900 thousand years old. I'm talking about my other daughter, actually my youngest." The Goddess said as a portal opened up beside her and soon after a little girl came out of it.

At first, Mio was captivated by the beauty and cuteness of the little girl and her eyes seemed to follow through with her every move, but when she snapped out of her daze she only found that the little girl's eyes were actually covered with a cloth. But that wasn't the only thing she saw, Mio realized that the little girl was different from any child, and she immediately knew why. It seems that the little girl inherited her Mother's coldness and indifference, and even if she cannot see her eyes properly, she can tell she has the same eyes as her Mother. Utter coldness.

"Come on, introduce yourself." For the first time in Mio's life, she saw her Master smiling so gently, a kind of smile that was full of emotion and affection as she patted her daughter's head. She had never seen something like this, but when she saw it, she couldn't help but feel that her Master still had some emotion in her even though she looked like that.

"Hello, my name is Somi Ayase, the youngest child of Yuki Ayase," Somi said respectfully while looking straight at Mio and even though it was covered, Mio felt danger when she was being stared at by Somi.

"Let me get straight to the point, my daughter got cursed because of my own powers, and because of that, she doesn't have any power, not even a Soul Realm inside her body. But that doesn't mean that she's a mortal, she is still my daughter. So she was born with the greatest physique, she's even more talented than my other children if given the right time. It's just because of that curse she became like this…" Yuki explained carefully with a hint of bitterness in her voice that Mio could hear, this gave her another shock.

But just as she was about to open her mouth, Yuki got rid of the blindfold that was covering Somi's eyes, and when she did. Mio was brought down to her knees immediately and when she looked up, she could now clearly see Somi's eyes. It has two colors, and she has a heterochromia, but the weirdest thing about it is that one of the eyes seemed almost ominous.

Only when Yuki covered the right eye, the red eye with her hand, the suppressing feeling that Mio was feeling removed, she could finally stand correctly.

"What are you doing Mom?! Didn't you say that I should never remove my blindfold, because if I'm not careful I can kill someone accidentally!" Somi said as she couldn't help but cover her eyes immediately with the blindfold by snatching it from her Mother's arms, she was trying to hide them because something bad might happen. But Mio who was carefully watching everything could see that her little body was shaking out of fear and she pitied her because of it.

"You saw it right and felt it… that is the Curse that I'm talking about, and I'm not going into too much detail about the curse. Just know this, when she looks at someone for too long, though long is overstating it, if she looks at someone for over 30 seconds, that person will die. No matter who they are, an Angel, Demon, Monster, or even a God, they will die. Though that is the Cursed Part of those eyes, it comes with great power too of course, she can see through everything with them. Nothing can be hidden from her eyes." Yuki carefully explained as she carefully lifted up Somi and comforted her.

"Yes… I'm sorry if I did that too suddenly, but I need to explain to her clearly why because like I explained before to you, you will be with her for at least 3 years, or until you are 10 years old before I take you back." Yuki apologized as she hugged her gently before kissing her forehead to calm her daughter's heart.

With just those explanations, Mio already got an idea why her Master wanted her to take care of her daughter because it was too dangerous for her to be in the Immortal Realm, and she felt sad because she thought that in her Master's mind, the lives of Mortals like them are not important.

"You're misunderstanding my intentions, Mio… the reason I want for you to take care of her is because this place has what I need to cure my daughter's curse. You remember that this World is mine right? I set it up so that the Mana that she absorbs will help her control her powers well because that is the plan." Yuki explained as she immediately knew what her little disciple was thinking when she saw her looking a bit sad.

When Mio heard that, she was really happy because her Master still cared for people like them.

"Now with all of that said and done… I hope that you can take care of my daughter well… as you saw already she is very special. For most of her life, she is alone because when she was born, she didn't mean to kill hundreds of people at the same time. Because of that incident, no people would dare to come near to her, only the people close to her can actually look at her in the eyes safely. She became like this, cold and aloof because of it, she never had any real friends." Yuki explained with sadness in her voice as she used Magic secretly so that her daughter wouldn't be able to hear what she was saying.

"I… I'm sorry to hear that. But don't worry Master, I will take care of her like she is my own kind." Mio swore as she placed her hand on her chest.

"I'm glad to hear that… You won't really have to worry about her because even if she is blindfolded she can still see well, at least a normal human being. Just think of this, her eyes have the same sights as a Mortal's eye with no Mana. As for her food, she is not very picky about it, but of course, feed her with something healthy. Now do you have any questions for me?"
