"You may…" Mio simply nodded her head and waited for the next question, but then she sensed, or rather was told by her friends that the camera was already running since they entered because it was a live broadcast which she didn't expect, but there was nothing that she could do about it now since it already started. She could already guess what the people were going to say to her and just thinking about it made her head hurt.
"At first I was going to start this interview with all of the details that were left out… but after seeing the Goddess in such a state, I think there are other questions that need to be answered first. Is… is the Goddess really all right, I might be going out of the line… but the words of Lady Solar hit everyone, and how badly injured is the Goddess currently right now?" Atago asked in a voice full of concern and it was even evident on her face.
"Starting off with something so personal huh… Well, there's no use in hiding it. With the big mouth of that woman, I'm sure that she already said the details about my Skills… Memento Mori to be more precise. But to give a clear answer… my soul realm has been damaged by about 80% and my Blood Essence is heavily depleted, so yeah. Even someone like a 6th-tier person can kill me easily." Mio simply laughed it off fully knowing that no one would dare to do that unless they had a death of some sort.
Because even if she was heavily injured for an entire week, she can still absolutely kill a 1st Tier person with the use of her Treasures that don't need to use her physical or magical prowess. Considering that she has a lot of it, she is still very dangerous and strong, and that is not even counting that she is heavily guarded by the Heroes which if they all work together, no one would be able to lay a finger at her.
"What's your next question for me then? Ask about anything and I'll try to answer all of them truthfully. Even if it's about my current health and state, though I already answered it." Mio said with a casual tone as if her last sentence didn't have any weight in them.
But everyone was so panicky after hearing how weak the Goddess current is, to think that even someone as low rank as a 6th Tier could potentially kill her is simply too sad and scary to think of. Because of that, they will absolutely do everything in their power to prevent that from happening without even Mio realizing it.
"Then… Can the Goddess tell us what she needed to sacrifice for you to set up the Array that she talked about in the World Meeting? The one that doesn't let any Gates spawn anywhere but Earth…" After that one question, the entire room, or rather the whole world turned silent because it was the question that was left on everyone's mind after hearing what kind of prices their Goddess needed to go through just to keep all of them safe and happy.
All of them are hoping that they can at least ease her burdens even though it sounds completely absurd because they know that it would be impossible, but they hope even if it's a slimmer of hope even if it is just emotional support which was the best thing that they could probably offer for her.
"I… It seems that Solar didn't make you ask that question… Haiss…" Mio simply sighed as she only needed to look at Solar to know that she didn't request for that question to be asked since she was also shocked about it guessing from her expression alone.
But her sigh made everyone's heart skip a beat as they were now clearly nervous because they could tell that it was such a heavy sigh meaning only one thing, now they could only hope that it wasn't too much of a consequence.
"I'll only say it once since… since I also owe her an answer to this because I dodged it. I once found a Treasure on one of my journeys and this happened about 950 years ago… this is a well-hidden secret since no one is alive to know it, it was also the time when I invented my Memento Mori Skills since it's a part of it, or rather it was the start." Mio took a quick pause as she stared at all of her friends before looking away as she could already feel their gaze at her which made her uncomfortable.
"That treasure allowed to me have infinite Mana for a short amount of time, but of course, such powers have a price in them. The price that I have to pay is that I will be cursed for a lifetime. Is that enough of an answer?" Mio asked all of them in a clear and uncomfortable tone as her voice was practically shaking and that made all of them shiver because she was refusing to answer. But before Atago could say anything, Najin already snapped which was rare.
"NO! I won't have that, you need to tell us now!" Najin suddenly shouted across the room shocking everyone.
"You… Fine… I'll tell all of you since it doesn't affect me much now anyway. I'll be Immortal that cannot die and that… I will be," Mio said with a pained voice that she tried to hide as she looked away from everyone before finally continuing.
"I will be infertile which means I can't give birth for the rest of my life, which is an eternity. At that moment I really hesitated because as a woman of course it was my dream to have my own family, but I threw all of that idea away for the people… In short, this curse is made to make someone lonely for the rest of their life. That's it right, now move on to your next question." Mio said coldly which was a clear sign for all of them to go past this conversation already.
"What the fuck… This can't be possible." Najin's legs felt weak as he finally dropped down to the floor at the shock and sudden sadness that came over her.
But it was basically the rest of the world. At first, all of them thought that their Goddess wouldn't marry them because she didn't want someone who was weaker than her, or that all of them simply thought that no one was worthy enough to marry her because she was simply too great of a person. But now that the truth came to life, it wasn't the case.
She was infertile and she didn't want the person that she married to have to share the same burden it would be hard to accept for any man that their wife wouldn't be able to bear a child for them because their Goddess was infertile. Now everything was clear, why their Goddess had always been lonely and only had friends to begin with.
"Don't worry, I have long given up on that kind of dream, it doesn't matter to me anyway… Now what is your next question, Atago?" Mio simply said with the usual coldness and aloofness that she was known for.
"Mom… is Mommy the one who made big sister Mio infertile, was the one who gave her such a treasure?" Somi who was in Alice's arms and Alice was already crying after hearing what kind of price she needed to pay. Somi then simply asked her Mother Katsumi because she didn't know what she would feel if her Mommywass was really the one behind this.
