Chapter 51: Final Goodbye

Allison

“I’m here, Mary.”

“Allison, it’s time for you to say goodbye, properly.”

My son, he’s grown so much. He sacrificed everything for Mary, for me. I can’t bear to see him like this.

“I’m not sure I can, Mary.”

“I know what you feel, Allison. You must say goodbye. Not only for them, but for yourself. It’s time to let go… “

Mary fades like before—I’m proud of the person she became. And she’s right, I must let go so I may move past the darkness, and step back into the light.

I take over Mary’s mind. I control her body. I feel everything.

“Orion?”

Orion looks at me with his one good eye, blurred by cataracts.

“Mary?”

“No, not Mary… “

Christopher tilts his head. He’s not in much better shape than Orion, but he’s still as beautiful as the day we met.

“Allison?”

“Yes, Christopher, it’s me.”

“How?”

“I don’t have much time, Mary will explain everything, but for now, let’s be with our son.”

My attention falls back to Orion. He wheezes when his chest falls.
