Friend or foe?

Sylus couldn't help but notice the beauty of the woman in front of him, despite the threat that she possed in that moment, her eyes were the same colour as Rhya's and something told him that Rhya and this woman in front of him were not just a coincidence.

"Friend or foe?" his voice thundered in the quiet forest making Maya's breath hitch at the sudden change, he was used to sweet and gentle Sylus, this Sylus made the hairs on her stand up.

" I could ask the same question." the woman retorted with a hint of amusement in her voice.

Maya quickly gathered her courage, taking deep breath in" We mean no harm." she declared in soft voice hoping that the woman had heard her from where she was.

" So you say! Why should I trust you." the woman retorted chuckling while drawing lines on the ground with her sword in semicircular motion.

Maya's eyes widened upon hearing the woman words and she quickly realised that this woman might know Rhya.

"We are looking for someone that got lost in this forest." she blurted out trying to fish for information hoping that the woman would ask more.

" Now, there's no need to go through the trouble of speaking lies. You already have my full attention." the woman retorted chuckling letting her know that she knows she is not speaking the truth.

Maya gasped when she heard the woman, stepping from behind Sylus, she took a step forward " You are like Rhya, right?" she questioned hoping that she was right.

" How do you know that name?" the woman questioned back surprised without bothering to answer.

Maya giggled, letting out a sigh of relief that she was right and they wouldn't have to fight her.

" It's a long-"

"Rom, no" Maya's shouted all of the sudden seeing her brother appearing behind the woman ready to strike her.

The woman looked over her shoulder, seeing the man not very far behind her "You're lucky, I would have killed you before your sword even touched me." she declared in threatening tone while glaring at him..

Rom walked past her tightly gripping on his sword ready to strike any moment, making his way to where Maya and Sylus were.

Turning around to face the woman, sizing her up trying to make some sense of what was happening.

" Your name?" he curtly asked while glaring at the woman in front of him

The woman chuckled " It won't matter once you're dead!" she deadpanned while readying her herself to attack them.

Seeing the woman getting ready to attack, Rom and Sylus did the same, while Maya stepped in front of them rolling her eyes at sheer display of stupidity from the three people.

" Can we just talk for a few moments, please!" Maya pleaded with the woman while taking a few more steps towards her.

" I'm done talking, we talked enough as it is." the woman huffed annoyed while herself took a few steps closer with her guard up ready to strike whomever dared to approach her .

" We helped Rhya when she was injured, we truly mean no harm." Maya quickly blurted out causing the woman to halt her steps glaring at Maya.

" Now why would ruin all the fun that I was going to have by saying something like that." she sneered chuckling in disbelief at the red haired girl that kept interfering with her.

" You're brave red." she added while sheathing her sword making her way to Maya, stopping in front her.

" Why would let this two buffoons keep you company?" she asked in an amused tone of voice while looking over Maya's shoulder at Rom and Sylus who glared at the woman.

Maya giggled " One of them is my brother and the other one is..." she paused for a few moments not knowing how to define her relationship with Sylus " my brother's second in command or was." she explained her voice fading on the last past that came out more as a whisper, hoping that Sylus didn't hear her.

Sylus perked up his ears when he heard Maya telling the woman who they were, although her voice was faint he had heard what Maya said and for a split second his heart stopped beating and he stopped breathing, he couldn't bring himself to believe that Maya is not even considering his ealier offer even though she felt something for him.

Seeing the pained look on Sylus's face and the way his sister introduced Sylus, Rom gathered that his sister is not all that taken by Sylus's charmes but he couldn't help but feel a little guilty thinking that his constant badgering might have something to do with it.

The woman frowned seeing the look on Sylus's face, turning her attention back to Maya " The one with blonde hair is truly handsome." her voice filled with humor " What's his name" she asked showing her interest for Sylus while she intently looked at Maya expressions.

Maya's breath ever so slightly hitched and her expression quickly turned sour upon hearing the woman showing interest Sylus.

" He is very handsome. His name is Sylus." she replied while looking at the ground a little disenheartened that now she had a rival, her time to think about Sylus's offer just got shorter.

" Sylus!" the woman echoed his name in a hushed voice with a naughty smile, her eyes gleaming with mischief.

"My name is Tyla" she suddenly introduced herself while extending her hand to Maya.

" Maya, pleased to make you acquaintance."she politely replied shaking her hand while Tyla's gaze shifted to Rom who was scowling displeased that he hadn't had a chance to fight the Tyla.

Tyla's eyes settled on Rom studying his sullen demeanour and his grouchy attitude " You brother is handsome too." she let Maya know her thoughts on Rom, who now glared at her.

Maya's eyes widened, her mouth opened to speak but she quickly closed, choosing to keep quiet about her brother's looks, knowing that he wasn't a man to judge a book by it's cover.

" Would you like to sit with us." Maya offered while gesturing with her hand towards the fire.

Tyla nodded and made her way to the fire and sat down on the ground next to the fire with three following her.

" What brings you to this forest?" Rom askewed straight away skipping the pleasantries, they weren't his forte.

" You're not one to waste time.I like it!" Tyla commented with a surprised expression gracing a bright smile.
