Farewell

Sylus let out a silent sight of relief when he saw that the conversation concluded in his benefit and he would get to stay with Maya in the forest.

He knew that this was selfish of him but he knew Maya wouldn't stay in the forest on her own and if he would go with Rom, she would want to go as well, for him this arrangement was a win, win situation.

Looking up, he noticed Rom glare at him, that was Rom's way of telling him to make sure that his sister is safe and he won't cause any troubles.

Sylus nodded in understanding and got up from his spot on the ground and stopped behind Maya.

Waiting for Rom to let go of her, so he could take his place and console her.

Maya reluctantly pulled away from the hug, only to feel Sylus's arms wrap around her waist and pull her close to him, his soft and warm lips on her temple make her breath hitch a little, when it suddenly occurred to her that she and Sylus will be alone now.

Oh, my! She thought to herself, this could spell trouble for her, remembering what she said to Sylus before she fell unconscious.

Ian hugged Iris from behind, placing his hands over her belly, with a wide grin plastered on his face while he kept fantasising about their life with children and couldn't help but feel happy.

He couldn't not care less about the witch, when the time will come, he will make sure to bring her to her knees and beg for her life.

If she dares to touch a single hair on the mother of his children, he will make sure to make her pay, even if that means that with her many innocent people will fall.

Iris just looked at the three people in front of her and couldn't help but feel sorry to break the brother and sister apart, but it had to be done.

Now all she could do, is to make sure that Maya and Sylus will be safe within the forest. Closing her eyes she focused all her thoughts on the forest and the magic in it.

Opening her eyes that now glowed, she could finally see how the magic flowed in every single plant and living thing in the forest and she couldn't help but be amazed at how beautiful it looked.

Reaching out with her hand she grabbed one of the green threads of magic between her fingers pulling at it gently, pulling another one with her other hand while Ian finally snapped out of his daze, to look at Iris's hands that were moving in the air gracefully.

" Maya! Sylus! Come, please!" she politely called in a soft voice while they moved from their spot and stood in front of Iris curiously looking at her hands that were suspended in air holding something.

" Your hands ?"she requested in a soft voice while the two just stretched their hands, Iris placed the threads of magic in their hands.

Placing her hands flat on top of theirs, she closed her eyes, when she opened them they glowed in a bright emerald light that made Sylus and Maya lightly gasp.

" Panthar Fiahthyr Maya fek Sylus amak thryo!" she uttered in ancient language while Maya and Sylus's hands glowed with green hue that quickly dissipated, leaving the two staring at their hand with their mouths opened.

" Now the forest will make sure that no harm will come to you and provide you with all you need to thrive in here!" Iris informed them while the two just sat there frozen not knowing what to make of it.

Ian clicked his toungue, leaning closer "You look so beautiful, my Queen!" he seductively wispered into the shell of her ear.

Iris's breath hitched and she felt a shiver running through her spine at the touch of his breath on her skin.

Feeling flustered, Iris gave the two people in front of her an awkward smile, she was sure that they heard what Ian just said to her judging by the look on Maya's face that turned red in an instant and Sylus just laughed nervously.

Ian smirked " I can't wait to go back to our secret place!" he wispered again while lightly pressed his lips on her neck and pulling her closer to him, Iris's eyes widened when she felt some poking at her bottom.

Looking up at him she have him a small smile, clearing her throat to gather herself " Ian, my love put the sword away, please!" she lightly scolded, while Ian's lips curled in a naughty smile.

Leaving Maya and Sylus's looking confused and wondering ,what sword?

Rom chuckled, understanding what she meant and for a moment he forgot the dire situation they were in.

Maya and Sylus turned their attention to him with their eyebrows raised in question, to which Rom just shrugged and began packing his things.

" The hut is on the hill! Ian and I used to live there, not long ago! It should be enough just for the two of you for now! We will check on you once in a while!" Iris informed them further while pointing at the hut on the hill, that now they could finally see.

Maya frowned " It wasn't there before!" she exclaimed in surprise while turning her back to Iris and Ian, to look at the hut that suddenly appeared out of nowhere.

" Don't touch my herbs and potions!" he warned in a serious tone voice while letting go of Iris and picking up their things off the ground.

" We will walk with you to the edge of the forest!" Iris informed Rom who was strapping his bag across his chest.

Rom nodded in agreement and gave Maya one last last hug " I will see you soon!" he mumured while pulling away from the hug, while Maya just nodded and looked down trying to hold back her tears.

Rom pinched her chin " Don't worry! I will be alright! As soon as I find Dahlia, I will come back to check on you!" he reassured her while gently squeezing her hand.

" I'll wait for your return!" Maya mumured sobbing feeling useless that she couldn't help her own brother.

Rom moved on to Sylus, extending his hand for Sylus to take " Take care of her!" he pleaded while pulling him in for a hug " Don't worry Rom! She is the light in my life!" he reassured Rom who patted him on the back and nodded while pulling away.
