A Second Chance

On the other hand, in Somkethren castle, a woman named Sadhya was having the time of her life while she tortured the cats with her horrible singing and chanting

The cats hissed and meowed at her to stop.

" This was my favourite song while I was growing up! Isn't that right, Seth? That's what they call you now, isn't it!" Sadhya finally stopped singing, and the cats slumped back on the cold stone floor, looking as if they were tortured to death.

"We will have visitors soon!" she sounded genuinely pleased while she brushed her dress with her hands and tidied up her hair

Getting ready for the visitor she was talking about.

Dark smoke mixed with fire appeared in the air, swirling around, increasing its size, and forming a clear sheen that wavered as if it was made of liquid. A man wearing a black cloak stepped through the circle carrying a staff that looked like a dead person's hand, holding a black stone.

" What news do you bring?" the man's voice sounded deep, unlike any other living thing could say.

Sadhya wryly smiled " I have two cats!" she said while pointing at them. The man with eyes like fire turned his attention to the cats trapped within the circle.

Laughter roared in the underground chamber " I came a long way, witch. I have no time for small talk and your foolish cats!" he said in an impassive tone while turning around to leave.

Sadhya panicked " Not just any cats. They are the kind we are looking for!" she persuaded the man in the black cloak, and his attention turned back to the cats.

" I thought that they only take wild beast form, not some grubby-looking cats !" he commented as he approached them to have a better look.

" They tried to sneak into my altar, but I caught them!" she enunciated the last part of the sentence as if commending herself for a job well done.

" And what do you want from me now? A pat on the head?" his voice was impassive. He stood up to face her.

" No, I just need your help to make them speak or something like that?" she hazarded a guess, not knowing what to do, to make them speak or how to make them.

" I see! So you found yourself in need of company, and now you're trying to get me to make them speak!" the man sounded more like a talking puppet. His voice had no inflection in it.

" Something like that!" she said with a shrug, while looking at him with pleading eyes.

" I can return them to their human form, but It won't be for very long, and I cannot promise you that you'll still have them once the spell fades!" he warned.

Sadhya fell deep in thought, is not like she was fond of the cats she did feel lonely, she knew she had only herself to blame for that, but it couldn't be helped.

She nodded in agreement, and the man in the cloak raised his staff and slammed it on against the stone floor. The sound echoed in the room several times. The floor shook and ripples appeared on its surface. The cats glowed for a moment, black smoke slowly encircled them until it filled chamber that they were trapped. The smoke started to dissipate and two naked men slowly began to take form, and drew the smoke to them, using it take human form.

She clapped and bounced up and down with joy, looking at the two cats that now were two naked men sitting on the floor.

" Thank you!" she said as she lowered herself to look at them better.

" It is not free of charge, witch, it will cost you two human souls, unsullied ones this time!" he stated his price, turned around and walked back through the portal that he walked through.

" Wake up, Kayhifi scum!" her mood suddenly changed as she banged onto the invisible wall shouting at one of the men. She had no interest in the other one, but she considered it a bonus for all her hard work and blood she had shed in the name of revenge.

The two. men lay on the floor unmoving. Her screams fell on deaf ears. It looked like they were deeply asleep. The with continued to spill her frustration onto the invisible wall, cursing the two men.

Her anger grew with each passing moment, huffing and puffing after she had wasted a lot of energy on banging on the invisible wall. She walked around, thinking that she had two options lower the barrier and get what she wanted or wait for them to wake up.

She knew lowering the wall would be a mistake since there were two of them. The other one might try to escape but as the guardian of the Hollow warned her, they would return to their cat form shortly or they might vanish into thin air.

Faced with the dilemma, she walked around the circle deep in thought. There wasn't much time to waste the spell won't last for very long. Now, she found herself having no choice if she wanted answers. Going inside the circle and wake up the man she wanted to talk to, was her only option.

Nodding to herself, raised a hand, and put them on the invisible wall. Holes started to form and they grew bigger and bigger until the wall finally disappeared.

She opened her eyes and looked at the two men lying naked on the floor and sneered.

" Finally, son of whore! Finally, I get my revenge!" she said disdainfully; stepping inside the circle and approached one the man in the centre of the circle, lowering herself to have a better look at him.

Her face contorted with disdain and hatred, her eyes blazed with pain and desire for retribution. Sadhya slipped her finger through his hair, fisting and lifted his head and slapped him so hard that the man groaned in pain and finally opened his eyes to look at her.

" Welcome to my humble abode, you piece of shit!" she hissed through gritted teeth. Her hands were trembling.

" Oh, how I hate you, and I'm looking forward watching you rot in the Hollow!" she hissed again; grabbing his neck and squeezing tight enough for the man, making him gasp for air.
