III

At this point I have now been in the hospital for nine days. I turned 6 six days ago. Physically there was nothing wrong with me however the doctors was unsure mentally as the authorities believed my parents had been murdered right before my very eyes. When I suddenly opened my eyes, the nurse that was in the room with me screamed after looking at me and ran from the room. The screech of the nurse hurt my head so I immediately scrunched my eyes closed and sink lower into the bed.

Moments later I hear the rush of footsteps and the babble of the nurse as she attempted to explain her panic to the doctor. I was only able to catch snippets of what the nurse said before the pain in my head and behind my eyes made everything go black again. My eyes. Something strange about my eyes.

It was some days later before I woke again this time to a dark and empty room. I suddenly remembered the panic of the nurse, and curiosity about what she said about my eyes prompted me to search for a mirror but the instant I sit up, I pass out once again sinking back into unconsciousness. Three nights later I am standing in front of the mirror, starring slacked jawed at my reflection.

My mother had always told me there is no need to look in a mirror or to pay any attention to my own reflection "Because you are above such things". It was her favorite line. I stood for what seemed like eons pondering my own reflection. My hair was a silvery white color with a blue glow to it like ice. What really had my attention though where my eyes. My pupils are reptilian shaped and blood red in color. My irises are violet and the whites are a cold blue banded in gold. And to anyone who looks at them, my eyes seem to glow.

I learn later that when my eyes where observed while I was unconscious, to the observer my eyes where a dull black in color but otherwise ordinary looking.

This unsettled some people and the doctor wanted to conduct some tests, but my Godfather, Uncle Jim showed up to take me home with him before the doctor could do anything. I was in the hospital for three and a half weeks.
