June's Powers

June glared at the Chimaera as it walked forward,

"Stop moving!" June screamed and lightning struck the ground around the Chimaera,

"Oh, nice tantrum June" the Chimaera laughed as she faltered for a moment before walking again.

"Enough! Why are you here? Why are you hurting people?" June yelled as tears fell from her bright blue eyes,

"Well darling, I'm here to get you. You are our weapon against the Gods and Goddesses, you are the only one who can bring them down and create a new order. As for hurting your friends, well I can't have them trying to stop our plan" June's mother explained,

"No, I wasn't your weapon! I was in your way! You were going to kill me, mother!" June shouted and lightning struck, this time one of the bolts hit the Chimaera. The Chimaera screamed in pain,

"How dare you hurt your mother!" the Chimaera yelled

"You hurt my friends, you attacked their home, and you've killed campers who could've been my friends in the future. You destroyed the place I was fitting into, the place where I was starting to call home. You deserve to be hurt, you deserve to suffer!" June yelled as anger filled her body. The thunder became louder and the lightning crackled and struck the ground more,

"You really do have Zeus' temper" the Chimaera laughed as she dodged the bolts of lightning; June ignored the Chimaera and focused on controlling the bolts of lightning.

"Focus on what you want the lightning to hit June" a voice rang through June's head,

"Who are you?" June asked

"I'm one of your fathers, the one who gave you this power, I'm Zeus," the voice said in a proud tone.

"Why are you speaking to me?" June asked

"You need to learn how to control your powers, and the best way to learn control is from the ones who gave you those powers teaching you how to control," Zeus said. June thought about what Zeus had said and decided it was best to learn how to control the lightning from Zeus,

"I'm willing to learn from you, but that doesn't mean I accept you or the others. You don't even care about your children enough to protect them from monsters while they train and live their lives, so why should you and the others care about me" June said to Zeus, who was taken aback by what June had said. Zeus believed that not getting involved with their children was for the best and that leaving the children alone would make them grow stronger.

"Very well, shall we begin?" Zeus responded to June accepting his help, and so he began to help June control the lightning.

"You must use your emotion to control the lightning. Point your anger at the Chimaera and let loose a bolt of lightning, all you have to do is point your finger at the Chimaera to let loose a bolt" Zeus happily explained the power he granted to June so she could use it to help her and the other children. June followed Zeus's instructions as she looked to attack the Chimaera again.

"Could you really hurt the woman who raised you June?" the Chimaera asked as she continued her advance towards June,

"Yes, I could. You hurt my friends, you hurt my new home, and most of all you were planning to kill me. You lost my love and trust long ago" June replied to her mother as she pointed at the Chimaera. A lightning bolt struck the Chimaera's hind, which caused the Chimaera to fall in pain. June let another bolt land, this time striking the Chimaera's neck. The campers watched in awe and confusion as June struck the Chimaera down.

"I hope you live a long and wonderful life my daughter" the Chimaera called out before she turned to dust. June let her tears fall down her cheeks as she turned back to look at the fire that had killed Dream and Jace.

"I'm sorry" June cried as she landed next to the fire,

"Why are you sorry?" a voice from behind June asked, a voice June knew.

"Jace?" June gasped as she turned around to see Jace and Dream still alive,

"How?" June asked as she stood up

"Nala wrapped us in water as we tried to get away" Dream explained as she smiled at June. June was filled with relief.

"I'll have to thank Nala," June said as she took a step toward Dream and Jace only to feel weak and collapse to the ground.

"June" a voice called out to June as she floated in darkness,

"June" the voice called again and this time June heard it. June's eyes flashed open and she looked around only to find she was in a weird place,

"Where am I?" June asked herself.

"June" the voice called once again

"Whose there?' June asked

"My little flower, you need to wake up," the voice said as a pair of hands pushed June's back. June shot out of the bed she was laying in,

"June!" a familiar voice called out as arms wrapped around June. June smiled and hugged the arms that belonged to Dream,

"Dream, how long have I been asleep?" June asked

"Two days" Dream responded with relief in her eyes.

"How is everyone?" June asked as Dream brought a plate of food over,

"We lost a lot of campers but the Apollo cabin saved a lot of the wounded" Dream explained

"I'm sorry," June said as she hung her head,

"Why are you apologizing?" You didn't cause this and you never knew your mother would do this or be a monster" Dream said as she lifted June's head,

"No one blames you" Dream smiled as June cried. Dream left to get Noran and Jace, June laid in the recovery bed and waited.

"Comfortable?" a voice asked from the doorway, June turned to see Nala standing there;

"Nala, why are you here?" June asked

"Came to see how the Chimaera slayer was doing" Nala responded as she sat at the end of June's bed.

"Thank you for saving Dream and Jace," June said

"No problem. Those two do a lot for our camp and I'm sure they will help you on this quest" Nala smiled.

"How are you?" Nala asked

"I'm doing better. I guess I overdid it" June responded with a smile,

"Overdid what?" Nala asked pressing for answers,

"That you can hear about now Nala" Noran replied for June as he walked into the building. Dream, Jace, and Noran all walked over to June and Nala

"June, I'm glad to see you are doing better," Noran said as he patted her head,

"Thanks, Noran" June replied with a smile as Dream and Jace sat on both sides of her;

"Now that you are better I can explain to you what happened before you passed out and tell you more about your powers," Noran said to June, and everyone in the room listened carefully.
