June ignored the howling and the screaming around her and focused on healing Jace as he started to groan.
"Hang on, Jace. I'm working on it," June whispered as she imagined her light healing Jace. June's light was dim. Her power was not responding to her wishes. “Please,” June begged as Jace’s wound started to bleed again. “Please,” June repeated as tears were brought to her eyes, and her power responded to her pleas. The light burned brighter and Jace’s wound stopped bleeding.
Jace stood up with the help of June. “Are you feeling okay?” June asked. “I’m doing fine. Thank you for healing, June,” Jace said as he let go of June’s hands.
June smiled before collapsing. “June!” Jace shouted as he caught her before she hit the ground. “I’m okay,” June said, but Jace knew better as he saw her face pale. “You are sweating and burning up,” Jace pointed out, but June shook her head. “I’m fine,” June insisted.
