Earth has become a dangerous place to live. The infectious disease agency has decided the best way to slow the spread is by taking the firstborn from each family. Dannon and Alayna Higgins and Judah and Bekah Greenberg are expecting the first, and have already joined the Space and Science Experiment Agency to help settle another planet. Their commander's time transporter broke several hundred years in the past, and another takes his place. It is believed by most that the planet is unpopulated. They were wrong. War breaks out. Only the friendship between the Higgins, Greenbergs, and the planet's native races and a return of the commander will stop annihilation of both sides.

The day continued. At some point, Bryce stood up, and nodded in the direction of Relda and her children. 


 “When Maz, Scion, and the bodyguards came, we ran some biological tests. They were prisoners, but we like to have a DNA sample of every visitor. If there are abnormalities, or anything that’s concerning, we can treat it. Are you--Relda and company, Nessa, Raylay, Ty, Story, Alec--open to these tests?” 


 Annika and Anniston exchanged side glances. Alayna uttered a syllable, but felt a nudge against her shoulder. Dannon held his hands flat, and then lowered them. She sighed, and crossed her arms. 


 “I just feel like we need to,” he said. “I can’t explain it exactly. It will be totally confidential.” 


 “Alright,” Relda consented. “It can’t hurt. My children can decide for themselves.” 


 “What’s going on?” Bryce wanted to know.
