CHAPTER 4

After burying what was left of them, I walked away, from everything I once knew. I thought about where I could go but it never occurred to me.

I had reached the highway, no one was on it, I turned right, which led to a town and started jogging towards it, the only place in my mind to turn to was my aunt. Jesse, she wasn't much in my life but she wasn't a stranger, she was just too busy, and hated that Esther married Michael.

I keep running without a care in the world with that mysterious wolf's words on my mind.

About thirty minutes later, I had reached the town, it was lively, I had never once been allowed to come to the town, I was only made to stay there. Looking back now, I can see why but I can't understand, why me?!

I look at myself, a dirty looking ash pants and a hoodie, without any sneakers.

I put the hoodie up my head to cover my face and I walk into the town, I hated this, all of this, all I've ever felt was anger, and now I can't control it… before I did, but that was when they were alive, right now I can't, not until I find them all.

As I stick to one side of the street, moving towards a store at the corner of one of the blocks. When I walk in, it was scanty, there wasn't much more than three people in it, the store owner from my guess and two customers….they saw me and their face immediately turned for the worse.

They walked out of the store, with what was in their mind evenly written on their face.

I walk up to the store owner who just stared at me, with no emotions nor did I sense any ill intent.

"Could I borrow your phone?" I ask. I wanted to call her, as they had made me memorize her number in case anything happened.

He pulls out a phone from his pants, and as he handed it to me, it was then I saw the tattoo on his neck, he had small hair everywhere on his head except the top and had on suspenders with a nice looking top and khakis to match. He looked too well off for such a bland looking store.

I take the phone and walk to the corner as I dial, it went on and on, and didn't connect. I dialled again and again, it wasn't until I was about to give up that she finally picked up.

"Who is this?!" her soft but stern voice had come into my ears

"Uhm, hey aunt J," I say awkwardly

"Damme? What happened, why are you calling me?"

"Sorry, please come pick me up at that town we had Christmas in a few years back. I'll be waiting". I cut the call and deleted the call logs.

I walk back to hand it back to the man, and thank him, making my way to the door and leaving. I talk a few breathers and look around me. I needed to change, and I needed clothes.

I walk to the atm, this was rarely used as humans developed a technology for all your transactions and installed them on a watch, phone or something digital.

I didn't have Michael's card so I had to use cardless, once that was done I went to the nearest store, got sweatpants, a hoodie and designer sneakers, all black.

After that, I walked to the closest motel, all the while getting stares from a wild range of people, it didn't affect me but it's weird.

An hour later,

I came out of the motel in the clothes I'd bought, I didn't know which side to use so I just picked a random path and walked, I also didn't know what time she would get here but I plan to sidetrack to the place after this walk.

Firstly, I will end them all, all of them that came for me, from Esther's memories, was called the assassins association. An association comprised of vampires, wolves, humans and the rarest of them all witches. It's not that witches were rare, but they lived in hiding, you couldn't find one unless they wanted to be found.

They've lived in hiding ever since the seven nameless came, and humans and vampires tried to form a balance with a treaty. The werewolves agreed but even that was a mystery to everyone except the wolves.

The witches got in hiding because of their passive gift, by gift, I mean now, it's a curse to them. Witches can form contracts with humans and werewolves. Vampires were undead, which was against what the witches believed in, or so they say. Dark witches or better known as black magic witches are the ones that give contracts to the undead, hence vampires.

Contracts are the very base of their life force, witches can create a contract by willing it, which means unless it's of their own will and not forced, they can provide a contract. This contract comes like a tattoo on your body, any tattoo, it's not even fixed but an imagination of its own. The contract is this, a witch can give her most dominant power to the one in contract with her, but only at the cost of her life can it be used; meaning that if a witch with dominant power of fire affinity makes a contract with you, then you inherit her fire affinity trait but only when she dies, you cannot use it when she is alive, and you cannot use it until she's dead.

At first, thus power was a gift as they saw it as life insurance and as a means to be on top instead of below on the rankings of the supernatural, but all of that changed when the werewolves realised an obvious flaw.

If the contract came only of their will, then all they had to do was make them will it, thus the age of witches came to a stop. Bloodshed and torture were what reigned for almost half a millennia, the werewolves tortured the witches they caught and didn't kill them, and would make them will a contract for them, because since it's an equivalent to your life, it gave some of them false hope of after giving it to them, they could be free…but that was just a dream.

What happened was much worse, as werewolves saw the power they could get, they immediately killed off any and every witch that gave them contracts and even those that refused to the end were killed.

This turned them into the lowest of the supernatural, with werewolves supreme and vampires tagging along in the middle of-

"S-stop hitting her, it's going too far!" a child-like voice interrupted me.

I turned to see a scene in the alleyway, a bunch of kids hanging up to beat up another kid, while another was just by the side being useless…

"Shut up, unless you want to join her!" an eerie smile crept up the boy's face. He should be the leader of whatever this was.

I never really liked bullying, nor did I think bullying was bad, it was a necessity but only for those that are strong enough to overcome it.

I sigh. I turned to look back at the path I was supposed to go and turned to look at the scene which I should stop.

"Stop that," I say out of boredom, I just had to do it didn't I?

"who the hell are you?" one of them said.

"I said-" releasing some aura just to scare them,

"STOP".

Their eyes widened, the wolves among them knew what that meant while the rest only felt fear and pressure. Some had peed their pants before I could even remove them.

They move backwards and soon start running away, I turn back to the girl they were messing with. She just had her head to the ground as I walked to her,

"Where are your parents?" I ask

No reply

"How about your home then?"

No reply again

"If you don't say anything I'll just leave, or call child care." I threatened.

Then she looked up, now she was looking me in the eyes, she had red and blue eyes, blue to the left and red to the right. It looked odd but weirdly mesmerizing.

"I don't have any," she said.

She reminded me of the current me, with no parents or a home…but I was different, I had a purpose.

"Come with me". I didn't ask her, I told her. If she wanted to she would come.

I turned back to my original path and kept walking, at first she stood where she was, but after a few minutes, she started following. She kept her distance and most frequently she'd bump into some people but that wasn't a hard thing to resolve.

We'd finally reached the airport after 30 minutes, she followed me for that long without giving up. Did she not have anyone to go back to?

I stopped at the waiting area outside of the massive building and took a seat. She walked closer and stood, before silently taking a seat.

Often, she would glance at me and turn back like it was an uncontrollable action.

"Why are we at Yuji airport?" she finally asked.

"Meeting someone."

We sat quietly for almost an hour before I caught that familiar scent. I stood up and walked towards it, the closer I got, the stronger it was. When I had finally reached where it was at its strongest, was where I met her, my aunt, Janet.

"Stop where you are! This is a private area!!!" one of her bodyguards came rushing forward towards me.

"Stop" her voice was low but apparently could be heard by everyone, her eyes were just the same as before fierce but with that hint of exhaustion.

She, one of the council members of the human race board and also one of the most powerful amongst them, was my aunt.

"Hey aunt J," I say while trying to put a smile on my face but even that didn't help the tears I kept locked in from coming….

"What happened junior?" Her eyes still searching around as if waiting for someone else to come join but they weren't coming.

"They're not coming," I say to her wiping the tears, it wasn't of any use crying about it now.

"I see," she said. I could see it in her eyes, she was devastated, just like I am.

"Get on, we're leaving." She said and turned back into the plane…

Soon after the plane took off…we were now leaving the continent I grew up in and only knew to a different place altogether. But this time, I'll bring hell on them for what they've done to me.
