Dinner at my place

"Are you crying?" Jasmine asked Damon with a sarcastic face.

"What?! No, heck no. Something just got into my eye."

"Yeah sure, the classic line"

"I'm serious. Besides who'd even cry at this cheesy rom-com?"

"Really?!" Jasmine asked with a sarcastic tone

"You think that's cheesy? And your little fight club is too top notch isn't it?"

"Ahhh yeah. That shit is top tier."

"Sure"

"Okay, guys put your little movie debate for later. Now, who's hungry?" I said.

"Ahh yes I'm starving," Damon said.

"Okay let me go check with mom."

"Mom, is dinner ready?"

"Will begin in just five minutes."

"Buenas"

"Okay guys, dinner will be ready in 5 minutes and today's menu is lasagna, sweet and sour prawn, and fried rice"

"Yummm."

"You sure are lucky to have such a beautiful chef to cook your meals," Joey said with a grin.

"Well aren't you a sweetheart?"

"The dinner sure is delicious," said jasmine and Damon when they were done eating.

"We'll come here often and we will taste your delicious cooking whenever you can," Damon said with a wink.

"You all are welcome anytime here. You all are like my sons and daughters.

When we were done eating I walked them through the uber they called. They all live in the same neighborhood.

"Call me when you get home,Joey" I told her with a shy smile.

"What about us you little twat?"

"Oh yeah you guys too"

"Haah. You owe us one" Damon ran and gave me a back slap.

"Hehe. See you all in school tomorrow"

Then we all bade our goodbyes. After that, I got to my room and turned my light on. I didn't have to clean much because they all cleaned up after they were done. Such responsible people. I went to my mom's room and kissed her goodnight.

"Thank you so much mom for doing all of this for us"

"There is no need of saying thanks or sorry in the family, isn't it?"

"Oh yes, of course then how about a hug?"

"Yeah sure"

"I can't believe you grew up so fast. In just a few months you'll be graduating high school and will move too. I don't know how I will make it work out without you being here".

"Mom, you don't have to worry about that. I'll try for the closest college to home. And even if I don't get that, I'll make sure to visit you on weekends and vacations too".

"Yeah that would be nice I guess but you have to be independent of your mom isn't it? You'll have to live your life on your own. I'll always be right here" she said pointing to my chest.

"Okay, so let's stop panicking about the future and have a good sleep. Alright?"

"Yeah, teddy.Sure"

"Hey, where did you learn that from?"

"Your muse, Laurie. God, you guys are so cute."

"Omigod mom, stop teasing me."

"What?! It's fun teasing my teen son about his crush."

"Alright.Alright. Now sleep and take your pills."

"Yes, honey. Goodnight"

"Goodnight"

"If only your father were here he'd have been so proud of our son."

"It's okay. I know he's watching me from the heavens"

Mom smiled. I switched off the lights and closed the door and went to my room.
