Captured

“You are early.”

You are late. Sevir paused, short of saying it out loud. He dunked under water and fired up, ignored the screaming in his head and rose back up, only when gasping for air.

“I am guessing Headmaster Wama doesn’t know you have preserved the sunbird lineage. He seems to think you will lean on your mother’s side?”

Her statement turned into a question. Sevir looked from her to Lady Rou, who was sitting quietly and looking at him with a blank look. He nodded eventually. There was no point in hiding things she already knew and had no intention of hiding herself. Her straightforwardness made her somewhat likable.

“Have you found anything about my mother?”

“You are actually really nice when you are not being cold. Do you know that?” she did not answer his question just like he did not answer hers.

“Have you confronted the other guard-aide-whatever-man yet?” Sevir didn’t bother watching his language in front of her.
