Bailong, too, stepped behind Kamiko and waited. An alarming caution was rising in his head. He wanted to turn his eyes. His brother’s attention was on Kamiko. So, he took a risk, a quick peek into Sevir’s future.

Sevir was talking. Nothing happened. He was still seeing this man’s future. Is this was not RuIng that Kamiko knew? Who was this man? He rested his vision before his brother could understand.

Sevir shrugged, “you assumed. I never said I was RuIng or Hongli.”

Qinglong snorted in his head, “let me out. I will deal with him.”

Bailong ignored it and said, “if we are to form an alliance, please explain.”

Sevir thought for a moment. “Come out. We will talk here.”

Bailong picked up a few books, Kamiko picked two, and Sevir took the remaining. Qinglong rejoiced when Kamiko kept her distance from him.

“Who are you? Where is Hongli?”

“I told you. I am Sevir. Hongli has gone looking for our mother. I am here following another lead.”
