Reika's Message

Surrounded, he heard something that others did not. The steady tap-tap-tap, of Lady Reika’s boots, in the trees, a little distance away. So far, he knew none of her abilities, so he rarely knew that the wobbly ground under him was her doing or not. Regardless, he did not call out her presence to others.

He pointed to the east to call out a large group of beasts running their way, mindful of what hearing distance he wanted to project.

Bailong said, “Sevir, come back.”

The worry made him smile. The situation was tricky. He kept pointing east, decidedly.

One master called out. “A large force from the east, but the earth is moving in a larger force right ahead of us.”

“It could be a single threat of colossal size or numerous beasts, to confuse us,” Bailong deduced in the same hurried tone he called Sevir’s name.

“Where is the larger number of footsteps?

Two people confirmed quickly, “east,” and he stopped pointing.
