“What are you doing?” Sevir looked at the large circle of books around the crystal without RuIng. RuIng was at the far corner of the room, bent over a large pile of books. There were many books and paper in the room. This was the place he had promised to arrive at.

“Research.”

“Did you forget we had to learn about phones today?”

“I did not. I couldn’t hear the bell.”

Sevir did not say anything. He did not know what it meant.

RuIng came back, picked up the crystal, closing half his view and asked, “I forgot to ask last time. You seem much better suddenly talking about mother.”

“I have been going to therapy. I suppose it might have helped.”

RuIng gave him a blank look. Sevir shook his head. “I got mental help to sort out my issue with the subject.”

RuIng hesitated before asking, “what did this helping beast, I mean, human say?”

“I have turned my loss into an abandonment issue. There are some things no one can control. Death is one of them.” Sevir said flatly.
