The atmosphere between him, Sevir and Lady Hiwaga was quiet political. Each of them knew that him talking to RuIng had changed the dynamic of his nonexistent relationship with Sevir without a word of acknowledgement. Lady Hiwaga must have already found out this was about to come and didn’t stop him. Why did she want his relationship with Sevir to get better suddenly? What changed?
Lady Hiwaga did not address the subject of Hongli. Sevir, too, walked quietly at the back of the camp today.
“Your highness. We will make camp when the last ray of the sun is gone.” The disciple walking beside him spoke.
Bailong nodded absently. He had made friends with all the disciples. It had made Sevir’s life a bit easier for the journey. He got proper food and privacy. Regular gossiping sneers had turned occasional. The masters, too, in the last couple of days showed him more reverence. More than once, Sevir had defeated them, without recognising he did so.
