Flashback 31

“RuIng.” Sevir whispered between huffed breaths.

RuIng’s eye came into view, elongated, brow raised. “Why is the view awkward? Oh divine, did the crystal break?”

“As suspected, you knew this was the same crystal as the one with me?”

RuIng’s eyes widened, and he smiled impishly. “I didn’t. I suspected. When they said there was a voice coming out of it.”

Sevir wanted to glare, but he could only shake his head, unable to bring the agitation and frustration to the surface. “How?”

“Remember, I told you about that book about the crystal of void?”

Sevir nodded.

“It talked about the distribution of crystals from a source. Your and mine are connected, which means there ought to be a source of crystals on the other end as well.”

“You think my dad knew this source?”

“That is how he might have met mother.”

Sevir shook his head, “mother came to him. She was there in the hospital when he woke up from the coma,” then bit his tongue slightly.
