Family

Once they were all collected together, the bird gone, his father asked them to stop.

“We will explore ahead at dawn. Follow me. We will stay close to another opening.” His father said and walked away briskly. They followed. Through a few right and left turns, they appeared at a smaller opening, at the bank of a frozen river.

“Where are we?” RuIng asked first.

“In the same mountain, facing north. There is a good chance the beast whisperer is a runaway of the black dragon or a lone traveler of the mountains, even though there are none of those in this tough terrain. With an average sense of direction, they can live in this cave network.” Bailong said.

Sevir sensed Bailong’s high caution. He stepped closer to calm him, “whoever they are, it is four against one. If not, they would not want the black dragon on their back and would not engage us.”

Bailong touched his hair. “I am easily recognizable. It may do us good for once.”
