“I think you should tell me why never to use this taboo ability.”
“Sevir…” RuIng said warningly.
“Explain to me WHY it is tabboo. That way, I will know never to mention it, how to hide it or control it. I understand your world what you have told me of it, but I have never seen an ability in use. I do not understand still how it changes anything about how I act there.”
RuIng pursed her lips for a while, “just like how I do not understand why it is important for me to know about these small objects that store information of your entire world.”
“Yes. Like that.”
RuIng took a deep breath, but didn’t begin for a long time. Sevir could tell he didn’t know where to begin.
Sevir saved his brother for now. “You don’t have to say now, but someday.”
RuIng, “next time. Next time, I will tell you.”
Sevir smiled, “thank you. Then, let’s get back to the usual today. I want to teach you about maps.”
RuIng smiled easily. “I know maps. And how to read them. I am very good at it.”
