Chapter 8: Bloody Reunion

Gabriel's eyes widened and his mouth was left slightly open. His mind raced all the way back to the junkyard, and everything that happened there. This realization caused something to shift inside of him. He felt his need for revenge become stronger when he also remembered his promise to his mother, his promise that he would avenge her death.

When he snapped back to reality, the silence was still there but this time the man was gone. He was lost so far deep in his thoughts that he hadn't noticed the man leaving. Instead, he could only see Luna, sitting on the couch with her face buried in the old couch.

He slowly rose up from his hiding spot and looked around the room before going toward Luna. He looked from corner to corner and decided that it was safe for him to walk to Luna.

He then stepped to the side to get out from behind the wooden barrels and then carefully stepped toward Luna, trying to avoid all the planks that looked like they were about to break at any second, which was difficult since they all made the same loud sound and they all looked old and crooked. Nevertheless, he carried on on his path toward Luna. As he got closer to her, Luna slowly lifted her head, expecting that, 'man', to return and do more despicable things to her but she was pleasantly surprised to see Gabriel standing there in front of her. She was very confused but wasn't complaining, she immediately jumped up onto her feet and leaped into his arms. She immediately felt better and she couldn't help but start to cry both tears of joy and tears of fear. Joy was because Gabriel made her feel safe, the fear was because she was scared about what was about to happen to Gabriel.

"Gabriel, listen, you have to get out of here. Please just leave, I promise I'll explain everything the next time I see you." Luna begged. She really didn't want anything to happen to Gabriel, all she wanted in that moment was for Gabriel to be safe and also for him to leave the house immediately for his safety, but she knew that Gabriel wasn't going to leave, she knew that he was going to stay until he saw that she was safe, which wasn't gonna happen, or at least not on that night.

She sighed at that realization so she instead just appreciated him being there.

She regretted sending him the message as she now realized that Gabriel was about to suffer too.

They were interrupted by loud but slow footsteps, they were both evidently anxious about what was about to happen. They were both staring at the doorway, waiting to see Luna's father and what he could be possibly carrying. Their hearts stopped as soon as they saw him.

The man stared right into Gabriels' eyes, he walked up to Gabriel and said, "Your father sends his regards."

Right after the man said that he hit Gabriel across the face with his hard knuckles.

Gabriel hit the floor hard, his head banged against the wooden floors and he was out cold. A few seconds later he woke up, but not feeling well at all.

He was fading in and out of consciousness and was only seeing snippets of what was happening around him. He could see and hear Luna struggling, crying and screaming. His determination to get up was immaculate, but his body said no. No matter how hard he tried, he just couldn't get up. He has never ever been hit that hard, this man had clearly had a lot of practice before.

When Gabriel finally managed to get up on his feet, he looked toward Luna. For a second he was hopeful because he didn't see her father, but was quickly let down when his vision cleared up a bit. This monstrous man let out his destructive nature once more, by kicking Gabriel in his shin and then successfully landing an uppercut right into Gabriels' jaw as he bent down because of the pain in his shin.

Luna's cries and screams stopped for a moment as she watched Gabriel hit the floor hard. She fell to her knees and desperately started crawling towards him.

Just before she could touch Gabriel, she was pushed back by her father. The first time she was pushed back she immediately went towards Gabriel again.

Luna's father stopped her for good this time, by pulling her up onto her feet whilst grabbing her hair and shoving her across the room. She hit the floor, shaking from fear, and ran towards her room which was one of the rooms inside the door across the hallway.

There was finally silence in the room, with two people there but only one person conscious. Luna's father didn't waste any time at all and started dragging Gabriel across the floor by pulling one of Gabriels' legs and walking forward. Gabriel was dragged all the way across the hallway, right to the locked room next to the paintings. The door was slowly opened, as Lunas' father was doing everything very slowly. He then started whistling as he started stepping down the hard concrete steps, with Gabriel right behind him. One step at a time, Gabriels' back was hitting the steps, one at a time. When he woke up he covered his head as he was painfully dragged down the stairs.

His fear took control and the slow movement and the whistling didn't help.

When he stopped moving he was relieved for a second, but this moment of relief was cut short when he was picked up by the man and pushed back into a chair where he was chained up, not being allowed to move around.

For a moment nothing happened. The whistling stopped and there was dead silence in the room.

The man then stepped toward a closet. He placed his hands on the handle and looked right at Gabriel with his cold gaze. "Prepare yourself," he said, in this deep and neutral tone.

As he opened the closet a body bag fell out, dripping with blood. There was a person in there, still alive because he could hear feint and shallow breaths coming from the bag.

As the man bent down to open the zipper he looked at Gabriel once more, smirking at him, enjoying Gabriels' fear.

The zipper was pulled slowly and the person in there was a man. The man was beaten so badly that you could see the man's meat in some places where there wasn't any flesh due to it being cut out. The poor man's body was also covered in bruises and his teeth were all pulled out. When Gabriel saw who it was, he nearly passed out."Dad?!" he asked.
